Gun-toting senator pushes gun safety bill(NY)

ALBANY – Lawmakers use props all the time to promote some bill.

But Sen. Eric Adams, a Brooklyn Democrat, took that practice a step further Wednesday: he brought a semi-automatic assault rifle, bullet clips and even some undercover video shot of himself buying the weaponry at some Albany-area gun shops.

With a state trooper standing guard in an adjacent room and under orders not to bring live ammunition into the Capitol, Adams used the rifle show-and-tell to push his legislation to ban bullet magazines that can carry up to 30 rounds.

“You don’t hunt deer with 30-round clips,’’ Adams said of opposition by some gun groups to his bill.

Holding the FS2000 gun in his hand, Adams said his bill will close a loophole to a 1994 federal and state law that permits the 30-round clips to still be sold.

Adams, a former New York City police captain who owns three guns himself, said the larger clips are too dangerous and can permit terrorists or others to kill and injure large numbers of people before having to re-load.

The bill by Adams and a companion bill in the Assembly would ban the sale, purchase or ownership of the 30-round clips. Present law allows the sale of the magazines if they were made before 1994, but Adams said the law is easily skirted by gun sellers.

Adams said he is a Second Amendment supporter. “This is not an anti-gun ownership bill,’’ Adams said.

They are certainly pushing the failed "gun control" idea.

Guns for me but not for thee. Perhaps this little tyrant should give up all of his own guns first.

Been shooting all these years and never once bought a “bullet clip” for my guns.

Wonder if that’s like those little clips that let you carry extra 12 gauge shells on the side of a shotgun, only smaller?

The FN FS2000 is over $2000 retail....not exactly cheap.....but it LOOKS intimidating, which is all the gun control crowd has going for them these days.

Ummmm..............
Hey, dipshit....................
5-shot mags are the ones legal for deer.
30-rounders are for tyrants.
There, I hope that explains it—or do you worry that you’re in the 2nd catagory?

30 round magazines are for:

Gold grabbing tyrants,
Gun grabbing tyrants,
Freedom grabbing tyrants,
Constitution violating tyrants,
Wealth spreading tyrants,
Ensuring against a police state!
Protecting family against rampaging mobs, following a manufactured crisis.

What led this dumb sh*t to the conclusion that the Second Amendment had anything to do with hunting?

“You don’t hunt deer with 30-round clips,’’ Adams said of opposition by some gun groups to his bill. ... Holding the FS2000 gun in his hand,

Nice try Adams Use an FN Bullpup as an example of 'scary looking black rifles' to push your bullcarp.

BRAND: FNH USA
MODEL: FN FS2000 Semi-Auto Carbine
TYPE: Rifle
CALIBER: 223
FINISH: Black Matte
ACTION: Semi-Automatic
STOCK: Sythetic, Black
CAPACITY: 30+1
MSRP: $2,773.44
The cheapest I could buy one around me with an 'out the door' price is: $2,371.91(1)

I don't personally know anyone who has an extra $2,400 laying around right now. And I certainly doubt that any Gang-Banger is going to buy a $2,400 semi-auto carbine. Plus some 'swarthy looking' person with a certain accent (aka: Arab) might get a good going over by a gun shop if wanting to get a dozen of these at once.

So thanks for playing Sen. Adams. Nice scary looking rifle you brought for show and tell. But its still only a *wimpy* .223. And the Mag Capacity is irrelevant. The time it takes to change magazines is less than a 'New York Second' /s

Addendum
“You don’t hunt deer with 30-round clips,’’ Adams said of opposition by some gun groups to his bill. ... Holding the FS2000 gun in his hand,
I forgot to add: Sen. Adams, you also don't 'Hunt Deer' with a Bullpup style Carbine. And in many states you can't 'Hunt Deer' with a rifle chambered in .223 like your FS2000. In fact Senator, in IL we have to 'Hunt Deer' with a Shotgun.

That being said, If I was going to plunk down $2,400 on a rifle to 'Hunt Deer' I'd go with one of THESE:

BRAND: Savage Arms
MODEL: 110BA
TYPE: Rifle
CALIBER: 338 Lapua
FINISH: Matte Blue
ACTION: Bolt Action
STOCK: Magpul PRS-G-Buttstock
CAPACITY: 5+1
MSRP: $2,321.00
I might be able to buy this for $2,000 but then add in money for top notch scope and you're back close to $2,400(1) like the Bullpup. And note the capacity 'senator', it's *only* Five Rounds. So I assume it's okay with you., Right?

However senator Adams, see that caliber?... 338 Lapua. That sir, the 338 Lapua Boat Tail round is for when you really, and I mean REALLY, want to 'reach out and touch someone'. Or, 'Hunt Deer'. (/s)

So which is the more ''dangerous' rifle senator? And which rifle would a terrorist be likely to choose? Hint - it ain't the 30 round Bullpup.

(1) Davidson's has it tagged 'Zero In Stock' so I can't find a 'buy price'. And a Weatherby model Mark V TRR is close to $3,000
