Depends-—id any of them are teachers who walked off the job & were protesting, they might not qualify for ‘unemployment’ benefits.
If you are fired for cause—no unemployment.
Also—the state itself has to process the ‘unemployment’ applications. If any of those laid off are also the ones who walked out of their classrooms for 3 +++ days, they could find themselves in real trouble.
It ain’t cheap to live in Wisconsin. The only thing that survives there cheaply is a mosquito.
