WASHINGTON Upset with a continuing resolution she says didn't go far enough, some Tea Party-affiliated Republicans like Rep. Michele Bachmann say they'll push colleagues to insist on removing funds to implement the recently passed health reform law.
"We're having discussions about that now, particularly the defunding of ObamaCare for the implementation, as well as defunding Planned Parenthood," Bachmann said. "I think it will be necessary for some members, it remains to be seen if it'll be a critical mass."
Bachmann was one of just six House Republicans to oppose the two-week CR, though several Republicans have said publicly they'll insist on increased concessions in future funding measures.
House Republicans are quick to point out that they've already passed HR 1, their fiscal 2011 budget, which includes those cuts. However, that measure is considered dead in the Senate, and it remains to be seen if GOP leaders will be content to say that they passed the cuts once (without them becoming law), or if they'll actually insist on them and risk a government shutdown when Democrats inevitably balk.

How pathetically wussy can you get. Meet your new GOP wimps, same as the old GOP wimps.
How much do we save per week by shuting the government down?

Listen from about 20mins...
Maggie Mahar (leftie) paraphrase -> Conservatives and their fear-mongering. Congress has handed over a huge amount of control to HHS and Medicare. This is very Radical and Powerful. Very Radical. HHS Medicare can roll out their plans WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION FROM CONGRESS. Congress CANNOT BLOCK THOSE RECOMMENDATIONS. Congress has TIED THEIR OWN HANDS in the bill. It’s BURIED INSIDE THE LEGISLATION - NO ONE HAS NOTICED IT - IT HAS NOT BEEN TALKED ABOUT. HHS has the power to cut fees and raise fees without needing permission from anyone. This is radical. This is powerful....(listen to those women - scary people)

Some more stuff that’s hidden. HHS can do whatever they damn well please. They get direct funding from the bill which doesn’t have to pass congress PLUS they have the legal authority to do with it whatever they want...Kathleen Sibelius scares the bejeepers outta me.
