PHOENIX -- The suspect in the Tucson, Arizona, shooting rampage has been indicted on new charges that include the murders of a federal judge and a congressional aide.
The charges filed Friday were added to other federal counts that 22-year-old Jared Lee Loughner already faced in the Jan. 8 shooting. The shooting occurred at a political event held by U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords outside a Tucson grocery store.
The latest indictment charges Loughner with murder in the deaths of U.S. District Judge John Roll and Giffords aide Gabe Zimmerman.

Happy little mug shot there, huh. Where’s Judge Roy Bean when you need him. Rope, tree, no more smiley face.
Including 9 year old, Christina.
First off, Sheriffs don't bring charges. Prosecutors do. Second, the Arizona prosecutors have already announced that they're not going to bring any state charges until after the federal process has been completed, since under federal law they have priority anyway.
Those are the mug shots defense did not want released!! Now I see why!!

A federal grand jury has returned a 49-count superseding indictment against Jared Lee Loughner for the murder of a federal judge and a congressional staff member, as well as for causing the deaths of four other participants and injuries to many more during his alleged attempt to assassinate U.S. Representative Gabrielle D. Giffords at her Congress on Your Corner event held on Jan. 8.
Loughner, 22, is charged with the murder of U.S. District Judge John M. Roll and Gabriel M. Zimmerman, a staff member and Director of Community Outreach for Rep. Giffords, according to the new indictment. Loughner will also face charges for causing the death of participants at a federally provided activity, namely the killings of Dorothy J. Morris, Phyllis C. Schneck, Dorwan C. Stoddard, and 9-year-old Christina-Taylor Green.
The state charges are a whole different story, since they would involve murder and attempted murder counts for all the victims, regardless of whether or not they were Federal officials.
Just for that he should be shot; by the parents of the girl, no soft execution.
