The House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee invited Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to swing by and have a little chin wag about the budgetary implications of ObamaCare. Representative John Shimkus (R-IL) noticed that the rather large sum of $500 billion was dedicated to both sustaining Medicare and funding ObamaCare. When he asked Sebelius which destiny awaited those five hundred billion clams, she replied, "Both."

Few on FR want to remember that the Medicare prescription drug bill cost was sold by the GW Bush Admin at around $350 Billion and almost immediately after it passed it jumped to $580 Billion, and $750 Billion a few months later.

Bush was the lesser of two evils, but certainly not an optimal choice to stand up to government growth. I understand, on the other hand, how hard it is to not want to help seniors pay for expensive drugs. Yes, I know they are expensive in part because of government, but that doesn’t change the fact that they indeed are expensive. This is the problem with all ‘meddling’ of government. The government often creates problems that hurt people. Then they try to fix that by hurting other people.

I have observed politics carefully for over 30 years now and am convinced more convinced than ever before that the main qualification for the majority filthy RAT nominees to positions of power like Sebelius who are way under qualified is because they are dirty as hell and can be black mailed into towing what ever line is need to be towed. No different than the mob or some gang making some new member commit a crime so they can be vulnerable if they stay in line.
