Enjoyed that vid very much. The guy makes a great point about the didital age.

I loved the closing line about the unions evolving into the very evil corrupt people the were created to oppose.

Nice, sweet thesis, but I disagree with it. If anything the digital age makes it easier for an even more centralized government to have greater control, with everything from an infinite variety of taxes tallied and collected in an infinite variety of ways, to tracking everyone’s movement down to the second on interstate highways, to peering into each and every bank account worldwide. Services—from retail stores to banking to government are being centralized like nothing before.

I think that is leading people to push back. The excesses of government unions are only the culmination of the excesses of the progressive movement: from when Kennedy made them legal to the extent he did to people waking up to the problem took almost 50 years. Education started to go downhill decades ago, but still people haven’t figured out the near-monopoly union and blatantly progressive shenanigans at the center of it. (E.g, whole word vs. phonics.)

The Internet gives both the people and the government more power. Thus, we’ve now at least some means to fight back. but the first 4 decades of the electronic age only strengthened government, and even now, with the Internet, there is an increased weaponization on both sides—not a clear and innevitable devolution of government power.

Interesting that the video is on Youtube, but the links
in the posting point to a blog. One might almost suspect
a hit harvesting scam. Very curious.

can't win??? all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing...

2012 could very well be the vote that decides the future, or end, of the country as we know it

Very nice, and encouraging, to a point.

Mr. Whittle lays out a persuasive case.

(yesterday’s) robber barons == (today’s) unions
(yesterday’s) progressive movement == (today’s) TEA Party

What I’m wondering is this:

(yesterday’s) Pinkerton guards == (today’s) ???
