The signs are that Mitt Romney is running for president. With several Republicans edging ever closer to formally declaring their presidential candidacies, Romney told New Hampshire Republicans on Saturday that he’s the candidate who can beat Barack Obama on the central issue of the economy.

((snip))

A key hurdle for Romney among GOP primary voters will be distinguishing the health-care reform he instituted when his was Massachusetts governor from the nationwide plan championed by Obama.

"The signs are that Mitt Romney is running for president."

Aparently the author is the last living person to get the memo.

Economy? I didn’t know we needed a corporate raider to straighten out the economy.

Maybe that’s what we need. Many corporate raiders slash the payrolls as soon as they get control which would need be bad for the taxpayers.

We could use a corporate raider to straighten out the size and scope of the government, but Romney(Care) wasn’t really a downsizer on that end.

They also gut assets leaving a formerly successful company dead on the vine.

He's promised to end Obama Care.

He calls Global warming a crock of Bull shit.

He's proud to be an American, and has a birth certificate.

He's actually run a company in the private sector.

He's got my vote over Sobarkah the Kenyan Muslim Communist, hands down, any day of the week.

It's not just the economy. It's individual freedom, limited government, and basic human rights as outlined in the Bill of Rights. Real Americans, like Palin, Bachmann, and DeMint, would back off in the unlikely event that one of their proposals infringed on a fundamental right. The real problem with Mitt and with his twin in our White House is that they see a violation of fundamental rights and say "find a way to do what I want and get around that".

Really? I see little difference between Obama and Romney.

Romney will say anything to get elected.

His actions speak much louder.

If he should win the nomination (Heaven forbid), I suspect a lot of conservatives will stay home on Election Day.

He's pro-abortion:

He's anti-Second Amendment:

The candidate reiterated his support for an assault weapons ban contained in Congress’ crime bill, and the Brady law which imposes a five-day waiting period on handgun purchases. ‘I don’t think (the waiting period) will have a massive effect on crime but I think it will have a positive effect,’ Romney said.

He's in favor of forcing citizens to buy insurance and pay for the health care of other citizens.

With regards to my health care plan, let me describe what is the ultimate conservative approach. In this country, you have today about 47 million people that don’t have health insurance. We went out and tried to find out why they don’t. We found out that about half of them could afford to buy insurance if it were reasonably priced. They could afford to buy it, but they weren’t buying it. If we get sick, we can go to the hospital and get care for free.“ And we said: what? If somebody could afford insurance, they should either buy the insurance or pay their own way. They don’t have to buy insurance if they don’t want to, but pay their own way. But they shouldn’t be allowed to just show up at the hospital and say, somebody else should pay for me. So we said: No more free riders. It was like bringing “workfare” to welfare. We said: If you can afford insurance, then either have the insurance or get a health savings account. Pay your own way, but no more free ride. That was what the mandate did.

So I don't know why Romney hates ObamaCare. By Romney's own admission, if half of 47 million people can't afford health insurance but are forced to have it, then we, the taxpayer pay for that half.

Romney is an unprincipled coward and I doubt he's actually ever run a company? Calling Romney an astute businessman is like calling GWB a great baseball team manager, both were just front man for the money bag investor group. Neither were involved in day to day decision making. Romney was another favored son and another perfumed exec who manipulated funds to buy and sell operations, stripping out jobs and assets along the way to temporarily enhance bottom lines. Basically just another corporate raider and his record as such needs exposure. As a governor he never displayed an iota of political courage of principle....he's a coward! He'd certainly be marginally better than Hussein if only he had COURAGE and a little more straw!

He's proud to be an American

He's proud all right. Too proud to serve or have anyone in his family serve, or admit that going to bed with a mint on your pillow at the Marriott isn't exactly the same as being shot at in Afghanistan or Iraq.

Romney very publicly equated having his five sons riding around in motor homes, staying in swanky hotels, campaigning for him, with what our men in uniform are doing:

Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on Wednesday defended his five sons' decision not to enlist in the military, saying they're showing their support for the country by "helping me get elected."

He added: "One of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping me get elected because they think I'd be a great president."

Romney noted that his middle son, 36-year-old Josh, was completing a recreational vehicle tour of all 99 Iowa counties on Wednesday and said, "I respect that and respect all those and the way they serve this great country."

Many states force everyone to pay for health care. Its pulled directly from the paycheck.

Its a state issue that he was forced to deal with.

Federally, there is no constitutional authority to get involved. He agrees with that.

If he is the candidate running against Soebarkah the America hating Kenyan born muzzie, then Romney has my vote.

I've lived in Massachusetts my entire life, and I can tell you that you're absolutely correct.

He's the master of blowing with the political winds --at least he was until he signed on to Romneycare. He didn't expect that to blow-up in his face. Sometimes there is justice in this world.
