"March 6, 2011: The rebellion against the Kadaffi dictatorship in Libya has not produced any official outside help, but Egypt has apparently sent some of its commandos in to help out the largely amateur rebel force. Wearing civilian clothes, the hundred or so Egyptian commandos are officially not there, but are providing crucial skills and experience to help the rebels cope with the largely irregular, and mercenary, force still controlled by the Kadaffi clan. There are also some commandos from Britain (SAS) and American (Special Forces) operators are also believed wandering around, mainly to escort diplomats or perform reconnaissance (and find out who is in charge among the rebels)..."

Better them than us.
It isn’t over until somebody kills Qaddafi.
Reminds me of how our Vietnam mission started. You could almost substitute the words that identify the location and countries and the article would be describing what we did there. Almost.
Is Egypt doing this on their own or are we paying them to do it?
We give the Egyptians a discount on their next order of Abrams Tanks....
Well, since we send ‘em billions in aid every year, I’d say we probably are.
Remember the euphemistic “Studies and Observations Group?”
Isn’t this rich? We don’t have to discount them. They make them right there in Egypt. Reports say they have over 1000 of our tanks at their disposal.
We would be better off staying out of it. Whoever the winners are, they will not be our friends.
This begs the question......Why are we giving them aid? Aid for what? I can think of a lot of people right here in our country that need aid. I would suggest that we take all aid given to other country’s and give it to our own people so we can rebuild this country of ours. You don’t buy friends and loyalty. All you do is put off what is going to happen in the future.
This is the dangerous gambit I’ve been expecting and fearing. If Egypt takes over Libya’s oil fields, then when Egypt falls under control of the Muslim Brotherhood (which IS coming), it is going to be a very bad thing.
Okay, where are the cries of “No blood for oil”?
I agree!
I didnt believe that for a second, but it is true. Scary.
Has John Kerry volunteered to command a river boat patrol?
American SF and SAS “wandering around escorting diplomats” sounds really funny, in a sad way.
Like “On the Road to Benghazi” except without Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, and Dorothy Lamour.
“Why are we giving them aid? Aid for what?”
That was the price of Jimmy Carter’s Nobel peace prize. Egypt agreed not to get their asses kicked by Israel again (the peace treaty, Egypt’s withdrawal of forces from the Sinai) and we agreed to give Egypt tons of aid.
“Is Egypt doing this on their own or are we paying them to do it?”
I have no doubts the feds, without the peoples permission, are up to their necks in this too.
Ref post #11.
You are correct.
You’re just one of those foam at the mouth conspiracy theorists! (/sarsam off)
