I read it on two local blogs associated with the local CNN affiliate.

I suppose you can assume "Maria" is Black, but whatever. Sorry it makes people feel uncomfortable.

I am guessing she isn't black. Otherwise, why would the community be "divided"? Also, I'd think the MSM would make it clear if the victim were black.

Thanks. I’ve read some articles over the past few days and just finished a comment section of a local paper and didn’t find anything one way or the other. I have an opinion based upon the wording in some of the articles but I’ll hold that until we find out for sure. Again thanks.

To me, Maria sounds like a Hispanic! Maybe a dark skinned Mexican??
