It will take a SILVER BULLET to defeat Leftist Collectivism.
The Silver ROcket ^ | 02/25/2011 | Chris Duane

Buying physical silver is by far the greatest act of wisdom and rebellion any American can and should be doing right now. It is both a Silver Bullet to rebel against the Elite’s corrupt system and a Silver Shield to protect your family and wealth in a post- dollar world. Buying physical silver is non-violent, non-compliant resistance. Most importantly it works outside of the system and it cannot be stopped.

“As long as you play by the Elite’s rules, the Elite will rule.” -

I am not looking myself for a complete SHTF collapse. I want to be prepared if it DOES happen, but I don't foresee it. However, I DO look for a complete collapse of the US dollar within the next 2-5 years, and a dissolution of wealth like we have never seen in the history of the world.

Those who have "real" stuff - producing land, marketable skills, FOOD, means of self defense... those people will do well. The majority of the PRODUCING Americans -I am not talking about the welfare sucks - have their wealth tied up almost exclusively in their homes and what little is left is in a 401K somewhere in dollar denominated assets. When the dollar dies (and it is beginning to die now), there will be a huge rush to the exits but it will be too late. Home values will collapse in the midst of a hyperinflationary spiral and millions will be wiped out. Again, I am not talking about the government dependent drones. This is you and me.

There are many assets that will hedge against this. Some will do better than others. Of all the potential alternatives, I believe silver will do the best, for many of the reasons articulated in the article.

I am not a silver broker. I won't sell you any of mine. I am a silver hoarder, and hopefully a vulture investor. I hope to sell my "hoard" (pitiful as it may be) and buy functioning companies (their stock) who produce real stuff when they are selling for fractions of a cent on the dollar. This happened in Chile, in Ukraine, in Hungary, in Poland, in Weimar Germany, in Brazil, in Indonesia, and in every country who experienced a collapse of their country. It is possible to PROSPER in events like these, but only if you prepare.

Electing Sarah Palin will not help. Cheering on Republicans will not help. You are on your own in this thing.

Laissez faire!

The proper combination of brass, lead, steel, and copper works well.

I have thousands of lead pieces. I’ve also heard they may be useful if we end up in a barter economy for awhile, juslt like silver coins will. Even read something about bottles of alcohol.

9mm ammo IMHO is one of the best investments you can make:

1. Its durable.
2. Its easily measured and divisible
3. Its Internationally recognized and widely used.
4. The worse things get the more the demand will be.
5. You can barter for low cost items unlike gold.
6. Its highly useful.
7. Its not currently overpriced.

In a collapse both gold and silver will be worthless. You cannot eat gold or silver, you cannot use it to acquire anything (Who really wants a pretty metal that does not contribute to survival?)

If there is a collapse it will be total. "precious" metals will be useless luxuries that will be discarded. If there is not a collapse then we end up stuck with lots of gold and silver that still may not be worth anything.

I agree with the others. Guns, ammo, land, tools. Things useful for defense and barter.

Silver is expensive. I'd rather just use the more traditional lead, copper, and the occasional bronze bullets.

No amount of hoarding or anything less will win us back our Country.

No it won't. Every other currency collapse in modern history hasn't been a total collapse. Stocks and shares and currency and laws of property still prevailed. Nobody had to drive Mad Max cars.

When the dollar suffers its inevitable 80% devaluation later this year, America will survive. The people who have brought silver and gold (in addition to carrying out the usual domestic precautions) will thrive.

Yes, absolutely true. Now is the time to buy hard assets, including physical precious metals. Anyone in cash during D-month will be wiped out.

I'm buying another 2Kg of silver today. I'm not buying anymore this month, for the simple reason that I don't have any more money.

You are right. We are figuring closer to 66% devaluation but no matter still a horrific situation. Historically Gold and Silver have been used as currency when things collapse. Buy junk silver and fractional gold. But just before you do that get a cabin on some acreage out of town, 1 year of food, a water filter, a grain mill and a couple of good weapons with 1000 rounds of ammo. When this thing unwinds and it will the average Joe on the street is going to freak out because he/she does not watch the news or keep up with what is going on. I have friends who will flip out when the banking holiday comes and they can’t get their card to work at the ATM machine or use their credit card to buy food at the store. Its going to be wild.

I picked your reply at random. I could have picked any of several.

1) It is just stupid to assume that any financial dislocation will lead to a "Patriots" style collapse. Chances are, it won't. It certainly has not in any of the other 253 currency collapses we have seen in the last century. Again, people in Russia became blindingly rich in the collapse of the USSR, and they were NOT all mafia dons. Gonzalo Lira (from Chile) became a multimillionaire from 4,000 dollars invested in Chile's stock market just before Allende was deposed. The time to invest is when blood is flowing in the streets. Silver, as opposed to paper printed really pretty, gives you something to actually INVEST. Read Ferfal's blog and forget "Lights Out" and the other stuff. If that total shtf situation comes, you are probably going to die with the rest of them, along with (probably, even though paragraph two below is accurate) me.

2) If you are a prepper, then don't assume that preparation is EITHER/OR. I will guarantee you I have more guns and ammo stockpiled than you or probably anyone in this thread. I have AKs, AR-15s, SKSs, Mosins, 30-06s... all in plurals and some 5-7 apiece. I have over 10,000 rounds just in 7.62x39 ammo, with over 5,000 rounds of 9 mm, 40 S&W, and 7.62x25 (for my Tokarevs), apiece. I have dozens of shotguns, and over 25,000 rounds of .22 long rifle with various "odd calibers" thrown in as well. I have over a year's supply of food just in dried staples and over half a million un genetically modified seeds. I have over well over 1500 dollars worth of nickels, ingots of lead and easily another 200,000 of reloadable casings, along with the primers and powder to load them. I could go on and on. Don't assume you are talking to some naive person who never learned the first thing about prepping. Matter of fact, I post to FR thru a fake proxy simply b/c I don't want my posts easily traced due to talk about gold, silver and firearms. I do, however, belong to a collective of guys who have a retreat, a huge cache of supplies, and the rudiments of plans to bug out in the event of a disaster. It is not "either-or" and you should not make the assumption that I don't know which end of the tube the round comes out. I am fairly confident I could outshoot most people here. If that sounds like bragging.... well, I hope you get over it.

3) Even if there IS a spectacular collapse, there is no reason to assume we will stay there. Once everyone left comes out of their hidey holes, men will do what they have always done, which is engage in commerce. Since THE earliest commercial activity mentioned is gold ("havilah..., and the gold of that land is good" Genesis 2), we can probably bet that precious metals will once again replace paper with dead politicians.
