They've had this question on West Virginia's tax return for years. The amount that is actually paid is on the low end between slim and none. I believe that the first year it was on the form, only $80,000 was collected. It has been such a failure that they don't even push it anymore. The first couple years, they put out ads and pamphlets saying taxpayers were resonsible for keeping records and reporting use tax on all internet and mail order purchases from out of state.

Lets just say, like most West Virginians I've never paid a cent. Did I owe any? I plead the fifth! (now I'm heading over to ebay and Amazon.com)...

Use tax is an unconstitutional tarif.

Actually, I think you just pled yourself as a law-breaker, a tax cheat, and someone who thinks that other citizens of your state should have to pay for your free-loading.

Not much different than what conservatives usually attack liberals for.
