Bowcock also said they have found much higher pollution levels than expected. Some areas, he said, are showing levels that are 400 times higher than the recommended public health goal.

While the utility believes the contamination is affecting an estimated 100 households, he believes the number is closer to 250.

"I don't think PG&E ever had their arms around the problem entirely," said Bowcock, adding that he was stunned by the results.

PG&E said it has not seen Bowcock's water testing results but remained committed to working with the community and the water district.

The darkside of Pacific Gas & Electric : F**k the public.

Comment from Mookie Salvantini :

Hexachrome or Chrome 6 is nothing to mess with. It is one of the worst heavy metals and the contamination it causes lasts for decades. I used to test for it in Grand Rapids, MI. After many years of treatment, you could still see it leeching out of the soil and into the nearby stream.
Like most toxic heavy metals, it goes in and doesn't come out. It stores in your kidneys and is highly carcinogenic. Naysayers, that dismiss its toxicity do not know what they are talking about, but if they disagree, I know of a great stream they can drink from so they can prove me wrong.

Another culprit :

The government water district contamination oversight department. Were they asleep at the wheel, or acting in collusion with Pacific Gas & Electric ????????

Lawyers, like vultures always circle the sick, dying, and dead. Ohio's lucky, they get the vultures in Hinckley.

Imagine the size of the “Super Fund” it would take to clean up China’s ongoing pollution problem.

In this case, it’s more likely Pacific Gas & Electric didn’t consult it’s legal staff. Now they ( PG&E ) and likely the water district will pay for their deadly silence....and lawyers for the community will be enriched by that stupidity....a pitfall of the contingency factor.

It would seem China, the Hinkley water district and Pacific Gas & Electric have the same public-be-damned policy.

They’re Called Boobs: the Toxic Lies of Erin Brockovich

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2644249/posts

Revealed: “Erin Brockovich” Town Shows No Cancer Cluster

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2642494/posts

From Brockovich’s ‘official’ website:
“Say the name Erin Brockovich and you think, strong, tough, stubborn and sexy. Erin is all that and definitely more.”

Who puts that kind of statement on their own website? (not to mention ‘having’ an official personal website).

Thank you for posting this.

PG & E have all kinds of blood on their hands in ways which could never be traced to them. Rolling blackout policies, city blocks exploding, automatic call centers and reductions in emergency crews... to a lesser extent, these things also do long term harm. In San Francisco, they are building new upscale housing *on top* of a former Pg&E energy plant site that was fully operational less than 10 years ago. The land was so valueable they made that happen.

Where are our so called environmentalists anyway? I guess what happens in their backyard is an inconvenient truth? We need some attorney to do it?! So sad.

“While many of the more than 600 original Hinkley litigants moved away from the town after the 1996 settlement, Walker stayed. She preferred the remote desert landscape to a city skyline.”

Walker had settlement money & every opportunity to move to the desert landscape of her choice, yet she moved her children only 4 miles away from the pollution. A total idiot would be more cautious than that after what they had experienced.

“The settlement money disappeared into lawyer's fees and bad investments.”

This says a lot about this story.

How were you able to gain access to the Brockovich accounting records ? Rather, ( and very likely the case ) why post hollow, baneful, envious and hollow commentary.

Trying to kissup to brockobitch will get you nowhere dude.

Her claim to fame was only finding a way to promote oneself, without enough brains to come out of the rain. Fake claims, fake life, fake blond, fake followers. Same as a crappy over-promoted movie, when you see it you have to ask “where’s the meat”?
