Mexico demands answers on guns moving into hands of drug cartels

MEXICO CITY — Lawmakers in Mexico are demanding an investigation into a U.S. law enforcement operation that allowed hundreds of weapons to flow into the hands of Mexican drug cartels amid claims from a ranking legislator that at least 150 Mexicans have been killed or wounded by guns trafficked by smugglers under the watch of U.S. agents.

U.S. authorities say manpower shortages and the high number of weapons sold resulted in their losing track of hundreds of guns, from pistols to .50-caliber sniper rifles, though a federal agent deeply involved in the Phoenix-based operation said it was "impossible" that U.S. authorities did not know the weapons were headed for Mexico.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has acknowledged that at least 195 weapons sold in Arizona under Operation Fast and Furious have been recovered in Mexico, traced as a matter of routine via serial numbers after their recovery from crime scenes, arrests and searches.

Mexicans politicians have blasted the ATF program as a violation of Mexico's sovereignty and evidence of U.S. arrogance toward its southern neighbor.

Be nice if Obama would of blasted Mexico back with illegals are a violation of America's sovereignty and evidence of Mexico's arrogance toward its northen neighbor. but NoooOOOooOo. What is Obama doing ? Obama takes on bullies at White House anti-bullying summit . President Obama showcased federal, state, local initiatives to address bullying, at a White House.

He might direct this anti-bullying summit towards Mexico.

The Mexican cartels have infiltrated the US government. Hard to say that you did not see this coming. We’ve got a President who believes that it’s OK to let Mexicans enter this country at will.

Maybe Mexico will get so mad and tell all their citizens to come back home. That will show us.

We could send them some warning signs. Like the ones we have in southern Arizona.

They could be warned that the U.S. respects the RKBA, that individuals coming from the U.S. may have acquired firearms while in the U.S.

Print them in Spanish. Give them as a goodwill gift.

Yeah like matricular cards, and instructions how to enter the US illegally is not a violation of our sovereignty and arrogance towards the US...800 million given from US to Mexico so Mexico can build a border fence on its southern border while Mexico objects to the US building on on its southern border is more Mexican hypocrisy and arrogance...

How puzzling:

After a years-long operation that involved KNOWINGLY permitting these guns to go south that the ATF then ALSO made that application for more gun-regulatory power based on the claim that there was an “emergency state of affairs” down there on the border.

I mean...I have no evidence but a reasonable person really would wonder if the AFT was bolstering it’s funding pressure and raison d’etre by actively ENCOURAGING that “state of emergency” to develop.

1. Induce emergency

2. Present yourself as the solution for the emergency

This is scary.

[”The controlled movement of firearms, ammunition, explosives, explosives devices, and/or components or non-functional “props” of such items across the U.S.-Mexico border from the United States shall be co-ordinated with and approved in advance by Bureau headquarters and the MCO.”]

Explosives?

Note
This is a serious violation of international law,” said lawmaker Carlos Ramirez Marin, a member of the opposition Institutional Revolutionary Party and president of the lower Chamber of Deputies. “What happens if next time they need to introduce trained assassins or nuclear weapons?”

So let us build a huge fence, let us station the military on the border, we can lock down the border & Mexico’s concerns will all go away.

King is head of the HLS Committee, maybe he should open a full scale investigation of the BATFE as a terrorist org?
