QUINCY — It was a routine call for Quincy police about two homeless men fighting. Hussain Al-Hussaini was arrested. The victim was taken to the hospital.

Then came the surprise. Readers commenting on a story about Wednesday’s arrest on The Patriot Ledger’s website noted that a man with the same name was mentioned prominently in a book about the deadly bombing of an Oklahoma City federal building in 1995.

By Thursday afternoon, police had contacted the FBI and spoken to the book’s author.

Jayna Davis, author of the 2004 book “Third Terrorist: The Middle East Connection to the Oklahoma City Bombing,” said she asked a Quincy police detective if Hussain Al-Hussaini, the man police arrested, had a tattoo of an anchor with a snake wrapped around it. He did. Police sent her a photo of him.

I REMEMBER seeing the police drawing of the second suspect right next to the Timothy McVeigh drawing in the newspaper. These pictures were released throughout the whole country. Then in a couple of days the FBI changed its story. Did the FBI reveal why the second suspect was exhonerated? From what I can remember, I don’t think that the FBI revealed why the second suspect was released. Suspect two must have had an iron-clad alibi (which the FBI did not reveal) or he was dropped like a hot potato for reasons unknown.

There were a series of Al Quaeda attacks on US targets during Clinton’s watch; the attacks at Rhiyad, the 1993 Trade Center bombing, two US embassy bombings in Africa on the same day and the bombing of the Cole in 2000. Clinton did not act like a president responding to terrorist attacks on Americans. He seemed to minimize these attacks.

McVeigh fit the “vast right wing conspiracy” excuse that the Clintons were looking for. Clinton ignored all of the five Muslim attacks on Americans but when a white male was involved, Clinton was all over the tv screen acting “presidential”.
