The EIA energy information ass’n is considered the primary site for all this kind of data. I don’t know whether we are pulling more oil out of the ground than we did yesterday or last year or the year before. If we are or we aren’t how this goofball can claim credit for it is absurd.

The important concept is that this remains an astoundingly dopey thing to say. I mean, we can’t drill because anything we drill takes 7 years to come on line, but as far as sound bites, what’s important is what comes out of the ground today, but that has little to do with what comes out of the ground tomorrow, and the imposition of nebulous and generally destructive limitations and mandates and directives by intellectual masturbators isn’t what gets the crap out of the ground.

The energy business, which I am not trying to convince you that I understand or even know a lot about, is a long term, adult-supervised, high-capital-cost, serious planning endeavor with many, many complications. It is a dirty business with many risks, requiring the assemblage of serious resources and very smart people. It isn’t a stupid rhubarb garden on the South lawn with helpers digging out the ground for you and photographers feting your fat ass every time you bend over and plant a seed.

WOW! What a command of the English language, Bravo! I could not have written it better.

Now, I want to know if this qualifies you to be an NPR listener. Are you erudite enough, white, and intellectual too?
