Always reminded me of the evil pastor from Poltergeist II.
How would our Supreme Court rule on “free speech” if this Westboro Baptist group created a disturbance at the inauguration of the President, or a Supreme Court Justice or the funeral of some patrician Senator regardless of Party?
The elite would have a swat team over them like flies on honey and have them forcibly removed and incarcerated, yet when it comes to the solemn ceremonies for average private citizens, they rule that these idiots have a right to disrupt. That is wrong and their ruling was a travesty and another indication that the USA is being ruled by and for the elite, not for us.
Our Supreme Court has a double standard for average Americans that must tolerate this scum, and for the elite who are protected and isolated.
I know. But usually such funerals are attended by a number of other people, including those who, like the Hell's Angels or local volunteers, show up just to provide a shield, to keep the mourners from having to see or hear the Westboro psychos. I know the Mennonites would not be beating the crap out of Fred et al., but surely there will be others in the crowd who could barely be restrained. It would certainly take all my self-control not to attack them, and I'm a middle-aged lady known for my ability to control my temper.
Just imagine that if/when the Westboro Bast@rd Church protests the “wrong” victims and they are summarily beaten and pummeled into a bloody pulp, the defense argues that the actions were a result of the “hand of an angry God”.
The WBC dirtbags have been very, very lucky. I await the moment their luck runs out. I’ll read of their fate with a smile and a quiet knowledge that God takes care of His enemies.
May God protect and comfort this Mennonite family.
Well I am a former mennonite, and it completely disgusts me that they would be targetted.
We are with you in your disgust. But Jesus said the righteous would be persecuted for His sake, so it’s is no surprise when innocent Christians suffer because wicked people assail them.
Why would they protest Mennonites?
