State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley has resigned after publicly crossing swords with the Pentagon over the treatment of an Army soldier accused of leaking hundreds of thousands of classified military reports and sensitive diplomatic cables to WikiLeaks. The chain of events that led to Crowley’s exit was set in motion Thursday when Crowley appeared at a Massachusetts Institute of Technology seminar and called the Pentagon’s handling of Pfc. Bradley Manning, who is detained at the brig at Quantico, “ridiculous and counterproductive and stupid.” Crowley’s public criticism angered some at the Pentagon and others across the administration because it put him directly at odds with Defense Department officials who have spent weeks trying to defend Manning’s treatment. The soldier is being detained under near-constant lockdown, and he filed a formal complaint about being forced to strip each night at bedtime.

He should have been given a cigarette, a blindfold and a fatal case of full metal jacket lead poisoning.

Yeah, right. These turds like Crowley don’t have to go into the Vipers Dens to get intel, etc or live with the taliban threatening to kill their children cause they had coffee with a US military!

They ought to send Crowley into the heart of Pakistan with a sign on him, “ I work for the CIA”.!

Scumbag! And now that he leaves, what an idiot. He would be the first to screech if that POS Manning killed himself.

They consider themselves citizens of the world with no allegiance to the nation they represent - whoops - the nation they are supposed to represent.

I like the back story where Obama agrees with everything Crowley said but throws him under the bus anyway. Getting to be quite a pattern.

I also like the contention that mistreating a US soldier in custody for treason will “just embolden our enemies around the world.” LOL

PJ Crowley was Pres George Soro’s man in the State dept.
PJ used to be in charge over at one of Soro’s far far left wing run propaganda groups so this is very interesting! To think this guy had access to the US secrets is beyond frightening.

While what Manning did was extremely stupid and extremely counterproductive,I always find it bizarre that the government is so willing to use much harsher forms of justice on soldiers then civilians.

While it is understandable to keep military discipline in the field,it doesn’t make much sense to go the extra mile to humiliate or harm a servicemen while a civilian would get the kid’s glove treatment.

Frankly it doesn’t matter if there is wikileaks out there anyway, the government’s handling of the war on terror has been so catastrophic that we will be seeing this shit hit our shores again sooner then later.

PJ Crowley, despite his name, is a big backer of Muslims and has been a serious problem at the State Dept, where even by their standards he stood out for his islamophilia. Good riddance.
