By: Jeff Head After the 9.0 Richter Scale Quake hit on March 11th, 2001, a massive Tsunami quickly followed. Please click on each of the pictures at the above linked site for a larger, higher resolution version. These pictures speak for themselves. The death toll will cetrainly run well over 100,000, perhaps 200,000, but we will never know or find all of the bodies which have washed out to sea. may God rest their souls and comfort their friends and loved ones left behind. |
FYI...horrific
Is that water or smoke in that picture?
Dear Jeff, so glad to see you are rehabbing and getting back into your realm.
Are you considering writing any more books? I wonder what scenarios the Japan situation might give you on a world wide scale. Serial earthquakes around the Ring of Fire with 100meter high tsunamis echoing around the Pacific.
Right now, I’m reading Newt’s first of two books on a fictionalized Pearl Harbor. Very entertaining thus far.
Regards,
Geo
I believe that’s the Tsunami at that particular site...though if it is, how the person taking it survived is beyond me.
Interesting. Thank you for posting this.
Glad to see you posting, Jeff.
God bless.
Looks like a Tsunami as well. Sadly, the person who took that may not have survived (I have no idea). It looks like a camera phone picture by the resolution so they may have sent it off right after taking it. It could also be from a stationary web cam or traffic cam.
Thanks for posting this thread, Jeff. Amazing. It took the better part of a year to clean up Ground Zero in New York after 9/11, and that devastation was contained in a relatively small geographic area. It’s going to take the Japanese a very long time to clean up that huge area. They might have to resort to burning much of the wreckage in order to clear the land for rebuilding.
Hope you are doing well, patriot.
That’s why I kind of thought it was smoke.
If it’s water, we finally have some scale...
So, should there be an expectation for some major ripples to Lloyds of London?
It’s the residue of disintegrating ceiling tiles, I think. Looks more dramatic than it is because of the camera’s flash.
Camera flash would have zero effect at that distance, especially in daylight
FrogDad has some experience with interpreting photographs. He said the “cloud” looked like a dust storm, so opines that it is either dust or smoke.
He said look at the “knob” sticking out on the right side of the photo, water doesn’t do that.
This video is up close and personal, one of the scariest I’ve seen.

It just keeps coming and coming and getting deeper.
Floatsam, then vehicles (cars), then trucks, then buildings...all being swept away.

He says he’s still not sure about that one pic.
Look at these http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2694153/posts
They are pretty graphic, too. Haven’t shown them to FD.
