Confidence in the U.S. system of government has dropped to a new low in more than 35 years, with public attitudes burdened by continued economic discontent, soaring gasoline prices, record opposition to the war in Afghanistan -- and a letdown in hopes for political progress after a bout of bipartisanship last fall.

ABC attempts to write an intro paragraph, and manages to get every item wrong!
What are the odds of that?
And what's the point of continuing to read further?

Confidence in the U.S. system of government is alive, well, and living in the Tea party, and in the overwhelming number of working, U.S. taxpaying citizens opposing the aparat that was assembled by the radical left for forty years, and put in place by the Soros/Obama/International Unions. You know? the "New Man" brigades that Marx put in place?

Strange, that ABC neglects to remember the 2009 "bout of bipartisanship" that produced the Obamacare abortion, and the avalanche of debt that has solidified the current national and world crises.

Only 26 percent of Americans in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll say they're optimistic about "our system of government and how well it works,"

Miraculously, that 26 percent corresponds almost exactly to the sum of the 53% of adults in the US that pay no income taxes whatsoever, plus the "some are more equal than others" Public Employee Unions and their supporting "student" thugs. Of course they are disillusioned.
The wheels are coming off their gravy train.
Resistance is not futile.

The engine that drives our country, the innovators, the producers, the makers ultimately have all the power; certainly not the takers, who have felt emboldened and entitled by the rise of the Soros/Obama regime.

The pecular form of "bipartisanship" that got us where we are is disolving as quickly as the silent, otherwise busy majority of responsible adults realize that they better start fighting the enemy with their own weapons, or surrender to the worst kind of slavery : radical socialism.

I still strongly believe that we will not become a larger version of Cuba or Venezuela.

Just a feeling.

It isn't working because we've had 20 years of big government politicians running it. Yes, I include Dubya...

I would include Reagan (in spite of his foreign policy successes,) Bush 1 and Bush 2, and their corresponding congresses.
Plus, of course, the "go along to get along" bipartisanship parade of RINO cowards.

And they still don't get it; the champions of conservative values and fiscal sanity; the newly elected Conservatives who claimed they "got it."

Imagine calling anything short of $200 Billion reduction a "compromise!"

More like keeping the corpse of original Representative Republic alive for a few more days...

Nothing wrong with our system. Best in the world. Problem is people. Mainly incompetent, greedy, power hungry, evil and un-American politicians who think they are special.

The system, as practiced, is broken. And the fundamental problem lies with the voters.

Exactly!
More specifically, the ignorant masses obsessed with their fancy phones, texting, reality shows, dancing with the retards, professional sports, movie star gossip and their worship of the pervert cultures...

When the ship goes down, we ALL go down, together with their gravy train.

I am fascinated by what their reaction will be then if, God forbid, they don't see the light soon enough to prevent it.

The problem is the people who continue to vote for the incompetent, greedy, power hungry, evil and un-American politicians who think they are special. When you have more people in the wagon than are pulling it, we are in trouble.
