Continuing Resolution (H.J. 48) appears to have passed House.
House Live ^ | Today. Now. Right now. Look sharp. It's happening.

If I am watching my House Proceedings correctly, I believe the CR (H.J 48) has passed the House.

No one seriously thinks it will stall in the Senate.

A lot of Republicans (44+) voted Nay. THAT IS A SIGNAL!!!

NO MORE CR's!!!!

Exactly! This is a bald-faced surrender. I heard that only 53 GOP members voted against it. I call it a pathetic showing, not to disparage the good guys in the least.

I agree with you, the trend is our friend here. 44 Nays gives Boehner plenty of cover to tell the dems “we won’t have enough votes for a CR next time, and I’m not going to ask.”

The question is: Will he say it? Let’s call our Congressmen and give them the message! This is it and no more! That gives the Republican Congressmen the reason to tell Boehner “no more CR’s” and Boner can play it straight-faced, because he’ll be telling 0bama the truth.

To heck with this gradual turn of a $4T applecart. We need to get hatchets out and cut the right legs of the draft horses off at the knees to make the turn so hard to the right that we topple the applecart!

uh...

We need to ignore getting all the watertight doors shut and simply crank the Titanic helm so far right that it snaps off the rudder.

Hmmm....

Or maybe you’re right and we should make the sausage slow so we don’t break the casing!

I just spoke with a staffer in D.C., very nice fella, military liaison, (I thanked him profusely for his service), but when he gave me the party line, I had to VERY nicely remind him of a few realities, like we know that the government doesn’t REALLY shut down, and that since we do in fact, have a majority in the House, we are out here wondering why we are bothering with “negotiations” with the Democrats?

Shakes head.

My message to caving Republicans is, “You guys SUCK. I don’t trust you. The Democrat vipers are smelling cowardice, and they will move in for the kill.”

See? You understand the Art of War (politics).

Oh, and I was wrong. It was FIFTY-four Nays. :)

LOL

...and normally I am an Upset-The-Applecart-er.

This time, I see how it is truly playing out.

I get it. And I'm patient. Three weeks worth.

That's about all the patience I will muster, though.

Well I just called my newly elected and supposedly “conservative” congressman, Reid Ribble - WI, and voiced my displeasure at his “Aye” vote.

I reminded his staffer that he was not voted in to play nice with the Rats, but to cut taxes and spending.

We’ll soon see what his response letter brings and whether this was just a political tactic or not.

Boehner got all the cover he needed in November. He may think he is being clever, but look at the position he is painting himself into. "I'm the leader, but they won't listen to me so if have to do this"? Uninspiring leadership if I ever saw it!

Patience is not with out an end.

Every day we postpone the inevitable fight just makes our adversary stronger.
This gives the DNC media another 3 weeks to denigrate and obfuscate.
I do not see any advantage in this.

exactly. Since the Nov elections, the Reps have been played like fools. We got precious little for the Bush Tax cut extension. The Republican girly men never go for the jugular. The evil left is playing for keeps and Boehner and the other so called leaders play for "civility." We are in a war to save our Republic and we have leaders who will fail us in the end. We need leaders with a Warrior mindset. We need to not only defeat the evil left politically, we must drastically reduce their source of power -- big government.

I wish someone would ask Boehner and Ryan if it would help America recover, if ALL 200,000 + bureacrats hired since 09 should be FIRED? Their answer would tell you all you need to know about how serious are they about cutting government.
