This isn't the same power station with the worst emergencies. That is Fukushima Daiichi.

So are they saying the four reactors are now cold and completely shut down? If so why all the hysteria and gnashing of teeth by all the MSM?

So what is the official amount of time that it takes to properly shut down a reactor?

I read somewhere on-line that it was 1-week.

Can anyone verify this?

They haven't really had much of a problem with the Daini plant. The problems have all been at the Daiichi plant.

Someone started a LIVE thread for all the updates from Japan so we could keep track of it in one place. You might want to post your update there:

I hope Earthquake didn’t cause any oil or gas leakage, not to say that nuclear accidents aren’t bad, but oil or gas leaks from the tremors certainly aren’t good either.

Good, but this is a report for Fukushima Daini. The plant with the current fire and three reactor buildings that exploded is Fukushima Daiichi. The names make it easy to confuse them.

Fukushima Dai-Ichi, or Fukushima One, is a six-unit nuclear power plant located in the town of Okuma in the Futaba district of Fukushima Prefecture in Japan.

7 miles to the south is Fukushima Dai-Ni or Fukushima Two, a four-unit nuclear power plant near the towns of Naraha and Tomioka in the same district and prefecture.

Right, Obama likely owns stock in a iodine manufacturing company.

A frightened people can be controlled. In this case this is for the anti-nuke crowd.

The true story, once told, will be of the amazing engineering and quick/effective reaction of the Japanese responders to this absolutely catastrophic event. Heroic is the only word for it.

There will be no lasting negative health effects from this event IMHO.
