Here's a book you might want to read: Keith Richburg (black journalist) wrote a book about a black man confronting Africa. Not sure of the title, but it's in one of my piles somewhere. He ended up feeling closer to white America (and appreciating it more) after his tenure in Africa.
I agree with you on your points regarding racism blacks hold towards whites; as far as the accidents and resulting problems, by me that is just as likely to be a white or Hispanic giving you the same grief.
You’re also right that it is the blacks killing their own children.
I had a West African I work with mock the black Americans with their pride in Africa; he was a refugee from Liberia’s civil war, and felt the American blacks could learn a lot by spending a very short amount of time there.
Yeah, there are trashy people everywhere... where I am, there are plenty of white trash tweakers and meth-heads. But I have never been mugged by a white person (so far).
One day I came home and found a teen Hispanic couple on one side of the driveway, and a black girl on the other. All of them were loitering. I did assume they were out to case the place before stealing something.
I asked them what they were doing, and to please leave. I asked them if they'd want me to hang out where they live. They didn't answer that one. But the black girl called me a "fat-ass white bitch." The Hispanic couple called me some more names.
They finally left and have not been back.
I'm playing percentages here. In your own experience, think back to whether it seems like there is a preponderance of troublemakers in some groups (or not; your mileage may vary).
I know that in my experience, I've had more trouble with "minorities."
I've also lived next door to Hispanics several times, which I didn't particularly like either. I grew up in Miami, where there are a lot of Cubans, but Cubans and Mexicans aren't the same people.
When I lived near Mexicans, I couldn't stand the noise level, and they don't discipline their kids. I don't know how old their kids have to be before they teach them some manners.
Sure, I've lived near white people I couldn't stand, but IMO I had fewer problems with other white people in general. And I'm not willing to move to a place where I'm the only white face. Just. Not. Gonna. Happen.
And that's why, in the future, I will be, to say the least, much more careful of where I live and who my neighbors are. For me, that includes looking at racial demographics, plus making sure we don't move next to a meth laboratory.
For me, I am content to read about Africa. There are so many things wrong with that continent that I don't have much of a desire to live there, or even visit, ever.
There is plenty of Hispanic crime by me, with less black crime (probably because there are less blacks). Because the area is mostly white, a lot of the crime is white (though the displacement of whites by Hispanics is showing in crime stats as well).
A lot of our new immigrants are Asians (from the Indian sub-continent, as well as Orientals). Their children tend to be very well behaved; the parents see to that. In my neighborhood (not wealthy by any means) people would call the police as soon as Hispanic or black strangers were loitering near any house, and they come very quickly. In twenty years there won’t be any Americans left in my neighborhood.
Me too; I’ll just read about it. It is a shame for a continent with so much potential & resources.
