The last time he was at this level it was because his “Strongly Disapprove” number was sky high. This time, however, it is because his “Strongly Approve” number is tanking. That is, he is losing his base.

I would love to see this, similar to what Ted Kennedy did to Carter in 1980. Obama would have to track further Left to overcome the challenge.

That's got to about rock bottom. Figure that 10-12 % of the population is black. Then add in white guilt libs, kooks who'd vote Dem regardless of the names on the ticket, people who misread the question, and so on.
It's the flip from "mild approve" to "mild dispprove" that I'm interested in. Figure that "approval" of any sort translates into "I'll vote for the guy, regardless".
Once those approves start to flip, then we're in business. IMHO.
