The link to donate is in the upper right corner
Please bump this along. Thanks
Thanks for the reminder....they are the ONLY organization we will give to...
I’ve worked with them on the ground during floods for long periods of time and they are indispensable.
I endorse them and will be sending my own donation.
These people are the real deal.
Me too, goodness. As a matter of fact, I went out yesterday and donated as much as I could at the site.
I’ve been waiting to see if the Salvation Army was involved in the relief effort before I gave. They’re about the only charity I trust for disaster relief.
Same here. I checked donate to Japan on Google and saw some agency trying to collect donations for a number of agencies ( sort of a concentrator that takes a cut) So I went to the Sallies directly.
Great group of people.
GOD please reach down and provide your protection and mercy on the Japanese. I pray that they may come to know your greatness, your mercies and your strengths and compassions. Lift this burden from their lives LORD and bind their wounds and comfort them. We ask this in your SON’s Name. Amen.

The vast range of social services provided at an international level tends to obscure the fact that the SA is an Evangelical Christian church. The quick response to which you refer was almost certainly because of a preexisting presence in that part of the country, before the disaster. This is much like the disaster in Haiti. I have a friend, a retired SA officer(pastor), who served as a medical missionary in India for a number of years, who was called to Haiti and had to amputate limbs to free trapped people among other surgeries and medical care. The existing presence of the SA before the earthquake helped to enable that quick response. God bless
Bump for a great organization. The Salvation Army is the most effective, honest charity in the US. My wife and I donate exclusively to the Salvation Army.
Yes they are, but they help all in need, not just those that believe as they do.

Quite true, I read a report where it was normally a 6 hour drive from where they started.
Bump for the late afternoon Freepers

Guess it's because the Japanese will make sure the money gets to the people who need it - while NO ONE knows where the money donated to Haiti went...
