How Left-wing do you have to be, do you think, before you’re beyond the pale at the BBC? Would open admiration for Mao be too extreme? I doubt it. Stalin? Borderline, I’d say – didn’t he improve tractor technology or something? Trotsky? Barely even worth mentioning.

The BBC’s bias seems to be getting worse. Yesterday it made enormous play of the fact that Barnardo’s was to run family welfare services at the government’s pre-departure accommodation centre for failed asylum seekers, and implied they were collaborating in some terrible crime. Why is this a story? If a court has decided people have no right to stay here, they should be deported, but we should still make their stay as pleasant as possible, especially for children.
Incidentally one of the great, early supporters of a United States of Europe was one Leon Trotsky, who advocated a centralised, anti-Christian federation to counter Anglo-Saxon capitalism. But whether the UK would ever fit in, he was not sure:

Why do we keep toying with labels like Trotskyites, Marxists, Liberals, Progressives, etc.? Why don’t we call them what they are - Communists of the Stalin/Mao mode?
Because that would not be politically correct and those same people would come after us calling us all kinds of ‘phobes. They silence us with Political Correctness. How long are we going to tolerate that? Call it what it is a stick with it!
The Communists are masters at getting their enemies, us, to finance them. We need to demand that government defund CPB, NPR, support for the “arts”, ACORN and affiliates, and all others of a similar nature. The UK should defund the BBC.
Why do we continue to tolerate this? The Tea Party Movement is a good start but we must keep the momentum going.
