Are Children ‘Infected’ by Judeo-Christian Values?
National Review ^ | 3/16/11 | Paul Diamond

Posted on 03/16/2011 11:53:26 AM PDT by Nachum

In an important case in the United Kingdom, the High Court held this week that Christian views on sexual morality could be “inimical” to a child’s welfare. Mr. and Mrs. Johns wanted to foster a child as young as five as respite carers for parents who were having difficulty. (Snip) When they retired, they applied to be registered as foster carers again. Early on in the assessment process, their Christian faith was identified (they are Pentecostals). It was felt their views on sexual ethics conflicted with the duty to promote and value diversity.

You bet. My kids also tell me they get infected from soap and water, homework, and house chores.

That's not an infection, it is an inoculation.

Its a matter of ‘when’ now, not ‘if’.

You have to wonder what it is about (some) human beings that makes them hate themselves and their species and their societies so much that they are willing to throw out any semblance to civilization.

Very hard to be optimistic when judges become vandals.

This is simply the State imposing it’s own religion and excluding the religious beliefs of anyone else, except of course for Muslims.

More word games from the left. You want word games, that's where to go. You want solutions to problems, go somewhere else.

Here's something George Orwell had to say about the elites and their word games. It's from 1984. These words are spoken whilst O'Brien has Winston strapped to a table and hooked up, via electrodes, to some kind of electro-shock machine.

What are the stars?’ said O’Brien indifferently. ‘They are bits of fire a few kilometres away. We could reach them if we wanted to. Or we could blot them out. The earth is the centre of the universe. The sun and the stars go round it.’

Winston made another convulsive movement. This time he did not say anything. O’Brien continued as though answering a spoken objection:

‘For certain purposes, of course, that is not true. When we navigate the ocean, or when we predict an eclipse, we often find it convenient to assume that the earth goes round the sun and that the stars are millions upon millions of kilometres away. But what of it? Do you suppose it is beyond us to produce a dual system of astronomy? The stars can be near or distant, according as we need them. Do you suppose our mathematicians are unequal to that? Have you forgotten doublethink?’

One can only imagine what removing Christians from the pool of people who can foster children, will have on those children. This can’t be good.

The definition of people who CAN be discriminated against these days is:

heterosexual
white
male
christian
if you believe in morality

Troubling news. Great Britain has not only succumbed to an official secularism that is blatantly hostile to Christian values and, at the same time, made more and more concessions to Islamic religious practices. This will not end well for England and it must be a warning to complacent Americans, especially Christians, who think ‘it can’t happen here’. It can - and will. Our complacency is a form of acquiescence. Americans are not immune to the harsh reality of unelected judges and governmental agencies decreeing liberal interpretations of law that suddenly find the Christian religion ‘intolerable’ in some way. We must remain vigilant.

Do they ever ask this question about any other religion?

What hypocrisy and contempt these people have. Self-loathing their own history and faith.

This is liberalism taken to its logical extreme: They have the state decide what is good or bad for you. If they don’t like your religion, they call it an “infection.” I wonder what religion the judge belongs to?
