en. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said Tuesday that he's open to reviewing the use of nuclear power in the United States.

Speaking on radio station 550 KFYI, McCain said that although he's not ready to "abandon" nuclear power, he's open to reviewing how and where it's used in the United States, once the nuclear reactor crisis in Japan is resolved.

"I'm not prepared by the way to say that we should abandon nuclear power because I think it's a major contributor [to] our energy needs but I am prepared, once this is over, to make an evaluation as to whether our nuclear power plans can continue," McCain said.

I say we follow Germany’s lead and shut down the 24 plants here in the U.S. for 3-4 months and make sure they are safe to operate.

Oh, and.......I work in the coal industry.

You are really surpised because of this?
You allways have to remeber left, right or whatever they are still politicians.
And politicians will allways jump on the band waggon.
Take germany for example.
Merkel a few weeks ago Nuclear power is vital.
Yes there are concerns (but i guarantee you that all our plants are considered the safest around the globe) and germany just can´t survive without nuclear power so i have desided to extended the “lifetime” of our nuclear plants.

Merkel yesterday. We will shut down 7 reactors (because of safety concerns) And we will have to think about the whole concept of nuclear energy.
Because the safety of the people comes allways first!

Do you get the message?

“Hey John: When the U.S. electorate bitch-slapped back in 2010, didn’t you take a hint???”

Heck, no - he got his senate seat for another six, now he’s free to go back to being the compromising RINO that sickens us all. And who cares what McCain thinks, anyway?
