(a real one, not a Christian who likes to yammer assorted sacrileges in transliterated Hebrew, presumably to appear holier or more genuinely grafted in than his fellow Christians whilst offending actual, worshipful Jews.)
I really appreciate you saying that. I I am a Christian grew up in a Jewish community and have been embarrassed when Christians do the Jewish thing. I worked with a Christian once who wanted to name our business a Hebrew name to bring in more Jews. I stonewalled her. She really doesnt understand.
Thanks.
I went to Catholic and Anglican schools so I am pretty certain what can be called “Sacrilege” to a Christian. (Especially a Catholic.)
There are certain no-nos in Judiasm, too: certain things that you just don’t do. It’s wrong. Like saying or ESPECIALLY writing variations on what might me the actual name of the Lord.
Listen - I am not saying by this comment that my faith is “right” and another’s is “wrong”. That is TOTALLY not the subject here. Whether or not YOUR interpretation of the Bible and scholarship and faith agrees with MY beliefs is not the issue. The issue is COMMON DECENCY.
The issue for me is somnething like this:
If I were a Catholic, then converted to Judiasm, or was a Jew, but somehow identified with Catholicism...
...And in each of my posts on FR I tag-lined with a little outlandish latin heresy (no I will not give an example) you can bet your sweet ass I would be taken for a mean, rude, unholy, loud-mouthed and FUNDAMENTALLY disrespectful jive-ass fool in sore need of an ass-kicking.
Frankly I hope Jesus himself kicks some of these guy’s asses... Even if I can’t be there to see it! LOL.
