Then WTF was the vote that I read it said the "Defunding of NPR"? Did they have a second vote and then the RINOS changed their mind? Usually that website is very reliable, I literally was on it everyday when I interned for Congress. Can you link me your website so that I have a more accurate means of gathering this info. I like to know which RINOS side with the scumocratas.

You pulled your info from Roll Call vote 190, Agreeing to the Resolution at 10:57 AM.

The thread was posted on FR at about noon

The final vote for Passage was Roll Call 192 at 3:24 PM.

Vote results usually take at least 20 minutes to show up on the House website.

Stupid that I didn't notice that because I saw the Roll Call Vote that failed that the dems put forward. I guess I missed it.

Why would the RINOS agree with it to oppose it??? Fool me once I guess???

I called Tiberi’s office, and the aide sounded pretty shaky; said he hadn’t had a chance to find out why, but I could tell, I wasn’t the first (or angriest) call he had gotten on that vote. Tiberi’s district might have three NPR listeners. He was a fool for voting no.

It is symbolic. I think I heard someone on TV say that only one percent of NPR’s budget comes from the feds. Ten percent of CPB’s budget comes from the feds, so that would have been more meaningful, if also symbolic.

When the senate refuses to pass, the house should stick defunding NPR in EVERY bill (as well as anything else Harry gReid doesn’t like).

I'd call it a trial balloon. If they get enough positive reaction to this, it can start putting pressure on the Senate Dems (who are certainly worried about the next election... they just watched tons of their buddies get ousted, and their only saving grace was that they were not up for election at the time... but now they are!).

If it gets good reaction, and the Senate takes a black eye for not letting it pass (although the MSM will do their best to cover, of course), they'll try it again, and next time possible even include the entire CPB funding. It's a first step. Let's encourage the infant GOP majority to take some more.
