Everyone knows that Israel is currently threatened by terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah both supported by the virulently anti-Israel Iranian regime. But what many do not know is that Israel is also under attack in a cultural war which seeks to destroy her by way of boycotts and divestments. The freest state in the Middle East is under attack from peace activists, pro-Palestinian organizations, professors and others who seek to starve Israel economically. But perhaps the most troubling trend in recent months is the popular entertainers who are refusing to perform in the only Jewish country in the world.
Roger Waters, former front man of Pink Floyd and one of the most critically acclaimed artists of all-time, has formally joined the BDS campaign against Israel. In an open letter a few days ago he wrote:
For me it means declaring my intention to stand in solidarity, not only with the people of Palestine, but also with the many thousands of Israelis who disagree with their governments racist and colonial policies, by joining a campaign of Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel, until it satisfies three basic human rights demanded in international law. 1. Ending its occupation and colonization of all Arab lands [occupied since 1967] and dismantling the Wall; 2. Recognizing the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality; and 3. Respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN resolution 194.
It is important to note Mr. Waters third demand, the right of return, which would demographically destroy Israel and transform it into another Muslim-dominated country in the Middle-East (just what the world needs!)

I would like to ask these musicians: Do you support Americas war in Iraq? (Of course, they do not.) Then why dont you refuse to play in America? The obvious answer is they cannot afford to boycott America or they would be out of business. So basically, they can boycott tiny Israelthe only country in the world constantly threatened with annihilation from racist, genocidal armiesbecause it wont negatively affect their income. How Courageous!
Well said. My admiration for Israel is boundless.
Dangit I used to like Pink Floyd. I wish folks would just shut up and sing/ just sayin.
Now that he's old he's just a bore.
Then he had a pig float over the crowd with "Impeach Bush" written on his ass. Nothing screams "important political message!" like writing your thoughts on the ass of a giant flying pig with red flashing eyes.
Saw him do The Wall recently though, and it was a mind-blowing experience. Good music, awesome technology, small brain.
Sounds like The lunatic is in the hall.
Sounds like The lunatic is in the hall.Well played.
I’m convinced that talented musicians that are far left-wing have the part of their brain that controls logic function sacrificed for the sake of musicianship.
Waters left PF a long time ago. Of course, PF ended quite some time ago as well, and after the reunion concert at that "charity" concert a few years ago (I can't remember the name... "Something-8"), Waters wanted to get the band together again. David Gilmour had the attitude "been there, done that."
Mark
And you thought Syd was the crazy one!
...there is no Palestine.....
Where can I find a current list of all ‘so called’ Entertainers who are against Israel? I could not find one in the article.
Thank you.
sounds like his brain has become comfortably numb
They are known for making music, not for original thinking. They are more like parrots than songbirds
Dear Mr. Waters:
Shut up and play!
After suffering through his leftist rants, that is the point when my wife and I walked out of the concert.
When I was a teenager I had a large DSOTM Prism painted on the trunk of my car. I still love the music of Pink Floyd, but that stupid POS will never get another dime from me.
I'll happily go see David Gilmore again, though.
*Just take a little off the right Floyd. We don't wash, cut or even ask questions about the left.
*Oh - OK Andy, say who's that new kid in town with the guitar?

When my brother’s girlfriend went to see him he had Obama 2008 on the pig’s ass. Looking back on it it’s kind of funny. lol
You nailed him. Sort of the John Lennon element of PF.
“Careful with that axe, Eugene”.
