..Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), who had come to the floor to congratulate athletes currently competing in the Iditarod Dog Race in Alaska, prompted the majority leader to speak on the topic.
After listening to Murkowski and asking a couple of questions, Reid explained that he had heard a piece about dog racing on NPR.
They had a really, really good piece on public radio before the start of the race, explained Reid. "I hesitate saying this because I know I will probably get in trouble, but this is a good reason why the House vote was bad today to defund public radio."

I have enjoyed a lot of shows and TV Channels which have either been canceled or went bankrupt. It happens and if there is a market for it, someone will do it right and make a ton of money off it.
Harry, we can’t afford everything that someone thinks is a good idea. It is not your money so you aren’t very particular but we are.
So, what is the connection with NPR to the mob-connected Sen. Reid?

The point isn’t that they never slip a story about normal people into their fawning coverage of gays and unions and other special interests beloved by the far left. The point is that it’s not an appropriate use of government money - of our children’s money.
Puff pieces on corrupt Dems, never ending attacks on non-fellow travelers that somebody claims looked askance at them from across town.
