Freeper 'The KG9 Kid' identified it as a MiG-23. Maybe he should be working for CNN as a highly-paid consultant.

Replacing ghaddaffi, with a fundamental islamist gov't is not a victory, it is a invitation into another war.

Exactly!

Such naive and uninformed opinions come forth from you.

Bet your arm chair is really comfortable.

What a brilliant response, from some one who is also typing at a computer.

This is a absolute nightmare waiting to happen.

I will not support another war unless we goin to win and I dare you to find a winning situation in Lybia.

In fact I would have rather gone into Darfur than this hell hole.

Liberal Ignorance is Strength, War is Peace Prize.
We have always been at war with North Africa.

I’m sure the anti-war left will be protesting today...

OH, WAIT....

French Planes Fly Over Libya as Qaddafi Defies Cease-Fire Calls
March 19, 2011, 10:08 AM EDT

French military jets flew over Libya, ready to enforce an air-exclusion zone to halt Muammar Qaddafi’s attacks on rebels, as Western leaders met in Paris to consider their next steps.

The planes were in the air not far from Libya this afternoon and were ready to carry out air strikes if there are orders from President Nicolas Sarkozy, a military official with knowledge of the preparations said on condition of anonymity.

Qaddafi’s forces attacked the rebel stronghold of Benghazi today in defiance of international demands for a cease-fire, television stations reported. Al Jazeera cited the head of the rebel council, Mustafa Abdel Jalil, as saying bombing raids took place in the eastern port city of 1 million people.

Strikes against Libya would mark the first military action by Western powers against an Arab government since the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

I understand Sarkozy can make things happen. If the International "club" doesn't act or agree to his liking, then he forms his own. He's a take charge kind of guy. He is said to take the extra steps toward peace, so if Sarkozy is becoming militarily active, then he has found reasons to take stronger action. He believes the Constitution is clear, and its provisions, a biblical doctrine, that must not be violated.I do not believe the French President is a fan of Obamas as when the riots in France occured because of labor changes, signs were being carried in support of the great President Obama [who was going make life easier, for those who don't like to work for a living]. I do believe, however, he had great respect for GW.

Breaking news: Al Queda has been trying to assassinate almost every Arab region leader for 10 years now. Al Queda wants turmoil, the more turmoil the easier for them to spread misinformation, accuse the west of atrocities, and control events. You don’t need “google” to understand the region and what Al Queda wants.

From the BBC live blog on Libya:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12776418

1521: Al Arabiya television channel reports that Italian planes have started a surveillance mission over Libya, after French planes also began reconnaissance over the North African country.

1517: BBC correspondent Kevin Connolly in Tobruk said rebels felt “an enormous sense of relief” that Western military intervention is underway.

1516: French President Nicolas Sarkozy says the door for diplomacy will reopen if Colonel Gaddafi stops attacking civilians. He urged the Libyan leader to respect the UN ceasefire resolution to “avoid the worst”.

1515: Proud Libyan tweets: “Fed up of media saying #Tripoli is where Gaddafi supporters are, I’m from there, we hate him, hate him, 1000’s died in 4 weeks! #Libya”

1507: “Colonel Gaddafi has made this happen,” Prime Minister David Cameron says. “He has lied to the international community, he has promised a ceasefire, he has broken that ceasefire.”
