I see that stated there, but I haven’t seen any other reports or video of looting.
I guess we can take it with a ‘grain of salt’.
Until reading this thread, I was unaware there had been any damage or flooding in Hawaii due to the tsunami; everyone has been riveted by the horror in Japan.
I was on my scanner thru the entire event and can confirm that I definitely heard the HPD talking about looting/looters in Napoopoo at approx 7:am , myself .
They got came from Honaunau side . The HPD got on it right away and I think it only was happening real early in the AM .
As soon as the waves calmed down a bit , people started coming around and the looters could not do their thing .
When confronted , they ran off into the bushes , with people’s stuff in hand .
