People move to the burbs when they can afford it. This means a lot of blacks and hispanics now have a stake in their own lives they didn't have as clients of the welfare state. When they start paying taxes instead of harvesting income tax credits, they will look at things in a strange new light. It might take an election cycle or two but in the long run, I would not be worried by this.

Prince George’s County MD is the wealthiest majority black county in America, with miles of McMansions owned by upwardly mobile well educated black families. it votes close to 75% Dem, and my precinct went 90% for Da Won. Why? They are gubmint workers or affirmative action hires by Beltway Bandits who need “minority” numbers.

Their entitlement mentality would blow your mind. There are families within 100 yards of my house who have college degrees and household incomes of a quarter million, but they believe truly that they are suppressed, repressed, and due reparations. The current climate is all about getting even with whitey.

I wish that were true but it is not. Poor people now get massive entitlements allowing them to move to the burbs. The liberals have been pushing this for decades, to desegregate the white suburbs. It is not true that the suburbs have only people who can afford to live there. There are many suburban people with Section 8 housing benefits, EBT cards, health vouchers, and other general assistance.
