Most of the Subaru “Love” commercials are dreck, but I commented to my squeeze the other night that someone finally hit the proper note with that one. A truly great commercial.
We do, too! We were just talking about it last night. Our son just got his permit. They sure struck a chord. Very respectful treatment of the dad ... which is refreshing.
I watched about ten minutes of the Anthony Bourdain show, he was in Nicaragua. A native (I assume) asked him what he knew of Nicaraguan politics. Bourdain said “I remember the Iran-Contra Affair and my disdain for Reagan...” Click.
I love that commercial as well. I have a 12-year-odl daughter so it hits me right in my heart.
I read online that both the girls are the real-life daughters of the guy playing the dad:

odl = old. D’oh!
My wife watches that drek, it should be renamed Gay!
Pray for America
Love that commercial.
As a father, I feel that way every day.
Also the AllState commercial where the long line of teens in cars drive down the highway, seemingly never to return. I think they capture a parents nightmares very well.
I love that commercial too. My daughter just turned 17 in Jan. so we’ve been going for a little over a year on her own. We live about 1 mile from the high school so she drives there and then to dance twice a week in town, about 20 miles away. Lots of one words texts, comprising of Here & Leaving . . . although she seems to be forgetting lately. We got her a cute little fire engine red Ford Escape. The first 6 or so months, she was driving my old Expedition, a real tank, so she was thrilled with the Escape, not too big and not too small for my little goldie locks. :) Oh and I taught her to always drive with her headlights on, even though her vehicle has daylight running lights, I read an article many years ago before even having kids how statistics proved you were more visible/noticeable to other drivers . . . . even though more people do it now, figure it can’t hurt.
Good luck to all you soon to be Mom’s and Dad’s of teen drivers. I’ve got another one coming up too soon, he will turn 14 in May.
Yes...I like that ad....I watch it every time it’s on....
Anyhoo, I heard them talking about it in the breakroom just the other day. Sounds like the show has jumped the shark. Reason? "Too Gay."
There might be hope yet, but I doubt it.
Hilarious!!! That is gross

It always bothered me that the Nicaragua part is the part everyone remembers, and, unless you’re a diehard partisan, those memories are usually sour. I could care less if the Contras were funded against Congress’ wishes. Big deal. The bad part was debasing ourselves with Iran and negotiating with terrorists.
You should have stuck it out. Bourdain went to the dump where he watched children dig through trash for food or recyclables. Later he visited a farm where the family told of having of fleeing for the US during the Sandinista years and having their land expropriated. And time after time he goes after Daniel Ortega, who he says now has a personal wealth of $400 million. He talks about how the people are force fed on their "glorious revolution," but that the reality is just another impoverished state with a corrupt leadership.
The thing that's interesting about Bourdain is that you can see how all this travel has actually changed him over the years. It's one thing to be a young guy in the early 1980s, thinking that you're sticking up for oppressed people against "the man." It's another thing as an adult, married with a child, to go see for yourself.
Mudflaps!.......LMAO!
Victoria has pretty much been a conservative. And intelligent.
As for Glee, no kidding they will do this. The head ‘glee coach’ gal is a real life lesbian. The one who played the therapist on “two and a half penises”.
He's a smelly hippy who evaded Vietnam.
After viewing that I strangely feel droopy and deflated.
Thanks for making me cry with that commercial. Very sweet.
Good for Mrs. Jackson, she is really living out her faith-even to the point of ridicule by the MSM and her former Hollywood co-workers!
