Here in Michigan the teachers are threatening an illegal strike in May.

Interesting that they plan it in time to extend their vacation.

as long as somebody on our side can consistently and coherently point out that “we’ll have to raise your taxes to pay for their above-market pay and benefits”, this is an argument Trumka & Co. cannot win

Union officials are not planning a traditional mega-rally in Washington. Rather, they’re encouraging locals across the country to stage shows of force in support of Wisconsin unions and the Democratic lawmakers who fled the state in a failed effort to stop Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s budget plan. Throughout, the AFL-CIO is asking local leaders to tie the Wisconsin issue to the King assassination and civil rights.

This may mean the national unions have decided they cannot afford a mega-rally. They hope local unions will do the heavy lifting and that smaller rallies in quantity will be newsworthy and also get people involved. They are keeping costs down.

They’ve targeted Wisconsin, but have lost the automatic dues deduction in several other states, plus there are at least two states (VA/TX) that prohibit any public employee unions.

I really wonder just how much money they have to work with, here? I think that if they had it, the would be organizing a million-public-service-worker rally on the Mall and co-ordinate it with general strikes across the country. They aren’t doing this.

They seem wary of continuing to attempt to nationalize their fight. They have the best government they could buy. Are they beginning to have buyer’s remorse?

Oh, and don’t forget they have a judicial election to fund in Wisconsin on April 5. They and the donkeys have to run ads to discredit Prosser while making sure their candidate has funds. Prosser is taking public funds.

The Civil Rights connection is tenuous and, IMO, the same as invoking the *NAZI* epithet. That is: it is their last desperate resort.

As long as there is ONE Millionaire Left,

And, if we gotta do it lets start with Michael Moores rich fat @ss and then work our way through Hollywood, rich politicians and gluttonous union bosses. If we're going to have to do it, let's do it right!

Exactly. We need to institute the "Jon Bon Jovi" Tax.

Tax ALL Entertainers @ 100% over 1 Million Dollars per Year.

No Exemptions. No Loop Holes. Tax the free drinks at the Oscars.

And if they can't live on that then they are just greedy.

They produce NOTHING, and get over paid to do it.

Union members are 12% of the workforce, and most of them are in government.

They are going to have an extremely difficult time wagging the dog.

Trumpka’s right. The civil rights of the 93% of non-union workers are being trampled on by the 7% of the unionized workers.

Join us to make April 4, 2011, a day to stand in solidarity with working people in Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana and dozens of other states...

Of course these working people want to pick the pockets of their fellow State residents. I'm sure this approach will be a great success. NOT!

I only have guilt about things I have done, not things I was no part of. Unfortunately, most Americans allow themselves to be deceitfully manipulated by the left.

Moreover, a good deal of what “decent” people” believe about history is false or distorted because the left has controlled the schools, universities and media for so long. They need to grow up, find some courage, and stop “cowering”, or they will end their lives living on their knees.

I agree that they have no plan B, except violence.

"Union rights are no different than civil rights," Labor Secretary Hilda Solis told officials of the Communications Workers of America

Great. They hold a pistol to our necks and tell us about their Civil Rights. This the the way of People's Party. It should be called the Special People's Party.

Thanks for posting a link for donating to the Wisconsin reps facing recall. I’ve asked a couple of Wisconsin freepers to start a separate thread for this. What happens in Wisconsin will affect all of us.

Been listening online to Charlie Sykes this morning. He took calls and read emails from Wisconsinites who have been intimidated into silence by the union supporters. Sounded like they plan on speaking loud and clear at the April election. Just a shame that in this so-called free country, people have been put into a position of being silenced out of fear.
