Two US airmen have been rescued after ejecting from their F-15E Eagle warplane just before it crashed during allied operations in eastern Libya.

The plane appeared to suffer mechanical failure near the rebel stronghold of Benghazi, the US military said.

It came down after a third night of US-led coalition attacks on Col Muammar Gaddafi's forces, aimed at enforcing a UN resolution to protect civilians.

Debate is continuing in the coalition over who should take command.

I keep hearing that these are “support” operations, and yet, here we are flying over Libya. I don’t believe a word this administration says (not that I ever did.)

Debate is continuing in the coalition over who should take command.

You'd think they would have worked out this little detail before launching an aerial blitzkrieg.

Not only do they not have an exit strategy; THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE AN ENTRANCE STRATEGY!

The wreckage should have been bombed soon as the crew was safe.

Question: The Saudis have a first rate airforce. Were they asked to participate in enforcing the no-fly zone?

It looks (from the picture) like the area where the good stuff was is kinda toasted.

Think about that statement for a moment.......

WHICH ONES ???

Which is why “we” shouldn’t be there, and we should have full resources helping where 18-20K missing or perished in another land.

In my opinion, Israel is our friend or was before Zero. Bibi does know that the majority of Americans support Israel and many in Congress. The Schmuck in Chief is known to be a Muslim-rectum kisser.

IMO, the rest of the Middle East is our enemy. Kind of sums it up as best as I can tell. How about you?

Libyans pose with the wreckage of a US F15 fighter jet, after it crashed in an open field in the village of Bu Mariem, east of Benghazi, eastern Libya, on Tuesday, with both crew ejecting safely.

Oh man, there’s a story on Drudge that the rescue chopper shot 6 people welcoming the downed pilots.

What was it Fred Thompson said in “Red October?”

“This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we’ll be lucky to live through it.”

I understand that our PC military is “investigating” whether force was justified. These poor bastards are going to get a court martial and hung out to dry by Obozo and company.

Those pilots and aircrew flying RESCAP (rescue combat air patrol) or CSAR (combat search and rescue) are extremely brave men beyond measure. That some of our PC military people are even floating such nonsense in the MSM is criminal. Whatever political or JAG attorney contemplated this idiocy deserves to be hanged.
