A gun certainly can be scary looking. And that’s an emotional response which is perfectly valid yet it has nothing at all to do with the function of the gun.
Making it less scary looking so it is more approachable to some people is not only a pragmatic approach, it’s good business for some gun makers. And what’s wrong with a variety of guns that appeal to different people?
We let people drive around in armored cars if they want and we also let people drive around in pink Smart cars that are, frankly, cute. Neither one is functionally different from the other and neither one should be subject to any restrictions just because some people wet their pants at the sight of one-ton Ford truck with a lift kit and because some people (like yourself, I am imagining) are offended that some cars might be too cute and people won’t take them seriously.
And, yes, I want to make guns less scary. That can be done by a number of ways and one of the things I often do is I invite my friends to the range to try shooting. Typically, once they’ve tried it out it isn’t as scary as it used to be. There’s nothing irrational about that.
As to your comment about not wanting to deal with me in real life? You’re probably right as if you called me ‘honey’ in real life you’d be afflicted with a sudden and acute discomfort with potential ramifications upon your ability to reproduce.
What is irrational is what you did in your prior posts - namely say I was taking away your 2A rights because I voiced my opinion that I don’t think pink guns/foofing up guns, is a good idea.
If anyone is intolerant or irrational, it’s you. I can’t voice my opinion if it disagrees with yours. I’m somehow not a real 2A supporter if I don’t think this is a good idea. We all have to be lock-step with you and if not, we’re not genuine. That’s liberal mentality right there if I ever saw it.
Personally I think it’d be better if it had a bigger cylinder to carry one or two more rounds but then it would profile more. If anything that’d be the only thing I’d wish for. That and some say a better standard front sight.
Probably one of the best quotes or at least most often used quotes of Heinlein around here.
Kind of the weapon-style take of ‘good fences make good neighbors’.
Still, being light and handy, it served well enough for a woman alone at home to deal with a villain.
Hers isn’t pink. Hmmm.
“Im somehow not a real 2A supporter if I dont think this is a good idea.”
Yep. I agree with you on that.
What’s at issue here is you’re upset with how a gun looks and that has nothing to do with function. Liberals like to ban ‘scary looking’ guns and your argument gives aid and comfort to the enemies of freedom by providing them with an excuse to legislate not only against guns that are ‘scary looking’ but also guns that aren’t.
I’m not irrational in this. I’m speaking to the same approach to guns as Charlton Heston, Tom Selleck, Ted Nugent, Dick Cheney, Wayne LaPierre, and about 40 state legislatures and etc.
You, on the other hand, are working on the same philosophical wavelength as Charles Schumer, Rebecca Peters, Michael Bloomberg, George Soros, and the state legislatures of Massachussetts, California, Washington, Illinois, and etc.
If you think I am intolerant of your opinion in this matter, you’re right.
In this particular topic there’s no room for compromise and I’m utterly intolerant of those who promote the incremental infringement of my liberties.
Our military essentially agrees with you.
Military aircraft vs civilian aircraft are good examples.
I love it.
Because I don’t think pink guns are a good idea, and you are, I’m not a real 2A supporter. You have no idea who you’re talking to.
And being ignorant enough to say that me voicing my opinion somehow infringes on your 2A rights. You sound like a flaming libtard saying that.
Please don’t bother to post to me again, it’s an exercise in futility talking to you.
“Because I dont think pink guns are a good idea”
I’ve heard versions of this BS all my life.
Take ‘pink’ out of that sentence and you can add in all sorts of things that liberals say all the time.
Which means you pass the Duck Test. Congratulations.
