It was a new job in Texas and I was very excited both about the job and the move. I was nowhere as politically aware then as I am now - but even then (30 years ago) I knew that there was something refreshing about TX and something fossilized about MA.
Quickly supplanted by "Barely Making It In Massachusetts" beginning in '83 with the return of Dukakis.
