Analysis: Libya mission is clouded by confusion

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama said he was setting clear and unmistakable terms for the U.S. role in Libya: It would be limited, lasting days, not weeks, and its purpose was to protect Libyan citizens.

But that's not the way it's turned out. Less than a week later, the mission has been clouded by confusion and questions about who's in charge and who's doing what — all while the killing of civilians is going on.

The Pentagon claims success in establishing an effective no-fly zone over much of Libya that has grounded Col. Moammar Gadhafi's aging air force. But Gadhafi's tanks and troops are still targeting civilians on the ground.

The administration seeks to minimize current disputes over the reins of leadership, suggesting everything will fall in place quickly, ideally by this weekend.

There are some doubters.

There are over 79 comments over on Yahoo and not a single one is in support of Obama. And yet the MSM is trying to convince us that over 60% of Americans fully support this debacle in Libya.

Good, the article states that the US forces will be implementing our exit strategy by the end of the week. US forces will pull back by Friday. Is that Eastern time? Libyan time? - or . . .

Not to parse words but by implementing the US exit strategy, does that mean only that we will conditionally pull our forces back?

Hell, Qadaffi must be loving this, Obama is telling the so called enemy that we are weak and not resolved to carry out a mission beyond using the US Armed Forces to make Samantha Power and Hillary Clinton seem more like butch, hard assed lesbians - if that's possible.

Maybe calling it an illegal act would help.

I hadn't looked at the comments. They do all seem to be critical. Don't see there any support for what we're doing.

It would appear that the only people supporting this action are the MSM stooges and the Obama spokesidiots.

The rest of the planet sees it for what it is. This is going to give our Military a black eye. I would have thought at least one or two Generals would have resigned before sending our troops to fight a war with no defined purpose, no entrance strategy, no mid game strategy and no exit strategy when we are already stretched to the limits mopping up two wars that we have been fighting for almost a decade.

Where is the “Honor”?
