NAACP at odds with city schools over tea party speaker on Islam (Says we spew anti-American wind)

MANSFIELD -- The local chapter of the NAACP has raised concerns about a speaker it calls “anti-Muslim” who will appear at a non-school event Monday evening at Mansfield Senior High School.

The event organized by Mansfield North Central Ohio Tea Party Association includes a presentation entitled “Freedom or Surrender” by Usama Dakdok at 7 p.m. The event will be held in the high school auditorium, but is not being organized or promoted as a school-related function.

Marcia Webb, president of the Mansfield Branch of the NAACP, said she is frustrated the school is allowing its facilities to be used for the event.

“The NAACP has always supported education for the future of children, and was disappointed to learn that the high school building would be used to allow ‘anti-Muslim, anti-American rhetoric’ to be spewed from the stage of the schools' auditorium,” she said in a written statement.

Webb said she was concerned flyers were posted in areas around the school advertising the event. It could not immediately be verified if and where the flyers were posted.

Tea party event organizer Bonnie Oleksa said the speaker is an Egyptian son of a Baptist preacher and does not have an anti-Muslim message.

According to a tea party press release announcing the event, Dakdok studied Islamic law in college, holds degrees in theology and missions from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and will speak about how he believes Americans are surrendering freedoms to radical Islam.

Superintendent Dan Freund said the district allows its auditorium to be rented by all groups and without consideration of a speaker's message.

Read the statement from Marcia Webb, president of the Mansfield NAACP, regarding our group’s event with Usama Dakdok on Mon., 3-28, at 7 PM, at Mansfield Senior High, 44906.

Usama was born in Egypt to Christian parents. He learned about Islam in school because it was, and still is, a mandatory subject. To further his knowledge of Islam, he studied Islamic law in college.

Usama came to the US in 1992 and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theology and a Master's Degree in Missions from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

In 2001, Usama founded The Straight Way of Grace Ministry. He travels throughout America teaching Christians how to be effective witnesses of Jesus Christ to their Muslim neighbors, as well as ministering to Muslims directly.

In this seminar, Usama will reveal the ways that we are not just losing our freedoms, but that we are surrendering them to our enemy, radical Islam. He will explain what Islam is, what Muslims believe and what it's like to live under Sharia Law.

The NAACP thinks the 1st Amendment applies only to those who are in agreement with the NAACP.

The NAACP sure has a problem with free speech these days. I guess it’s a commie thing.

The NJ site has over 40 comments posted regarding this article. All, and I mean ALL, condemn the NAACP’s actions.

Mansfield is a union, lib town and the NJ is a lib rag. Just goes to show you how the NAACP is losing its credibility.

In my experience, most people think that the First Amendment does two things:

1) Allows them to say whatever the heck they want.
2) Forces their critics to shut the hell up.

What part of Islam is pro-American?

The part where sharia replaces American law.

The part where a Calif replaces the President. (I suspect we are, already, very close to that.)

Good. Let her raise a big stink. More publicity. I’m sure many people will see her hypocrisy and attend just because they will think “Gee, if this fool thinks I shouldn’t go this must be good.”

Looking at this guys background, IMHO what Marcia is really worried about is the kid’s getting some REAL knowledge of Islam.

I’d love to see these two have a debate. She can throw all the kool aid out she gets from the left wing websites, and he can inform her about how he grew up Islamic, studied Islamic law and what Islam really is.

We can lay bets on how fast she gets up and starts yelling, “Racist! Racist!”

I say two minutes, tops.

“Yeah, better yet you should have sent her to the radio station.”

She’s already been to the local tv station, WMFD. They have a story posted on their web site...slanted her way. The tv station never even contacted us for our side.

Typical.

Never could understand the affinity that the paid black leadership has for Islam and Muslims. Maybe it’s tacit gratitude for those Muslim slavetraders who sold their ancestors into servitude in North America, where the posterity would be born in the U.S. and not Africa centuries later.

And this `colored’ business? I’m old enough to remember when it was the politest of references, implying that differences were no more than skin deep. So why doesn’t the NAACP change its name to the National Association for the Advancement of African Americans?

NAAAA.....it’ll never happen.

;^)

The NAACP does not like for the 'other side' to be heard because once heard, people choose 'the other side' over the RACIST, hating NAACP.

Imagine that.
