Sarah Palin says she's done.
Done with whining about the media, that is.
In an appearance on Fox News, where she serves as a contributor, Palin shrugged off a recent sexual slur directed her way from comedian Bill Maher, saying, "I'm through whining about a liberal press that holds particularly conservative women to a different standard, because it doesn't do any good to whine about it."
"Nobody ever promised life was going to be fair," Palin continued in what appeared to be a departure from her usual pattern of forcefully responding to critics, especially those in the media. "And politics really isn't fair, the scrutiny, the double standards, and all that. I'm dealing with it I guess in a different way than others who want to bring more light to it and demand that Bill Maher apologize."
The comments come a day after the traditionally-liberal National Organization for Women issued a statement condemning Maher for directing the slur toward Palin, saying, "Cut the crap! Stop degrading women with whom you disagree and/or don't like by using female body terms or other gender-associated slurs."
But Palin made clear she is none too welcome of newfound support from NOW, an organization that has long been critical of Palin and her stances on issues like abortion.
"I need NOW's defense like a fish needs a bicycle," the former Alaska governor said.
But she also vowed to be an advocate for other conservative women who come under attack.

Most of the media weren't all that concerned about that situation ~ after all there are only so many radio talk guys, but there was a decided lessening of the anti-crazoid discussions.
Not that Sarah is going to go out there and dispose of one of these people, but given their attacks on children they wayward "newsies" will certainly give the killer a sympathetic jury.
NOW has been "where" for the past decade?
Well, the second quote, the fish/bicycle one, she cribbed from Gloria Steinem who coined it back in the 70's.
If Bush proved anything, it’s that you can’t ignore your critics to the point of never fighting back or they essentially win the argument in people’s minds. I prefer the Ann Coulter approach which is to throw it back in their faces with as much viciousness as it was delivered.
But politicians cannot always do that either. So I suppose the best thing to do is to pick your spots but stay on message. But, above all, do not back down. The evil Left only sees that as weakness.
I agree with her. The ususal suspects are now giving Bachmann the Sarah treatment.
Disgusting anti-women mentality of the Lefties.
I would call Bill Maher a worthless scum-sucking slug, but it just wouldn’t be right insulting slugs by associating them with someone like Bill.
That’s called Judo. Using one of the left’s quotes against them. The original quote was “A woman needs a man, like a fish needs a bicycle.”
Oh boy, that big nose of his would be splattered like humpty dumpty.
And I think whining is different than defending...I wouldn’t want to see her roll over for these leftist snakes.
Bush folded his hands and constantly said his critics were wonderfu patriotic people and “we just have an honest disagreement”.
This when they were calling him a racist murderer. No, you have to explain that they are wrong and you are right.
a paraphrase taken from a Gloria Steinem phrase yr. 2000
Once she destroyed the RINO’s in the primary, people that are currently against her would be forced to re-access.
No woman, whether it be Sarah Palin or anyone else, deserves to be called a “dumb twat.” I have zero respect for anyone who would refer to any woman in that way.
...those 2 quotes right there prove that shes the one for POTUS 2012 IMO!

Really? How do they indicate the way she will simultaneously handle...
Dis-manting O-care.

That's just a partial list of what's facing the next POTUS.
So, again, what exactly is there in those two sentences that convinces you that she's the one for the job?
Ditto. Gratuitous AND blatently misleading.
Against them? It will be forgotten in 5 minutes. I love Sarah and would vote for her in an instant but in this case it just looks like she didn't have the originality to come up with her own snappy quote.
I liked it. However, I also have a sticker on my car that reads: “It will be a great day when all children attend private schools and the money wasted on public education goes to building bombers.”
