Trump: 'Why Can't He Produce a Birth Certificate?'

Real estate mogul and potential 2012 presidential contender Donald Trump defended his questioning of President Obama’s birth certificate Monday morning with a defiant, “this guy either has a birth certificate or he doesn’t.”

“I am really concerned,” Trump said in a phone interview on Fox & Friends. “You have no doctors that remember, you have no nurses -- this is the president of the United States -- that remember. … He could have been born outside of this country. Why can’t he produce a birth certificate?”

Trump, who has been flirting with a run for president, first made a remark about the so-called “birther” issue last week on The View. Obama provided news organizations with a scan of his birth certificate during his 2008 campaign, which some oulets also independently vetted.

“I brought it up just routinely, and now I’m starting to wonder myself whether he was born in this country,” Trump said Monday.

I agree with Trump that Obama should release his long form birth certificate (did he even officially release his short form one, or did that just show up on a website without a chain of custody?), but arguing that the doctors and nurses don't remember is pretty weak. How many remember every birth they attended forty-some years ago? It's not like there was a star shining over the hospital and three wise men from the East dropped by with gifts to make the Birth of Obama more memorable than any other birth that day.

I don’t believe that Trump has any intention of running for President.. I believe his “questions” are part of a focused attack by members of the Democratic party. The want obama out of the White House, but at the same time do not want any direct(public) involvement in removing him, or accepting blame for allowing him to be in the office.

I'm not much on Trump, and can's say that I think he's Presidential material-but I give him full credit for having cojones and daring re. this issue.
A President who is not a legally born citizen IS A BIG DEAL. It's illegal. We all know why this is being stonewalled. If it were proven that he was foreign born either he would prevail or the Constitution would. Both could not be defended.

You can tell what someone is trying to hide by the ways they try to hide it...and shelling out over a million bucks to hide his past shows something mighty suspicious is going on.

Busting this scandal wide open would solve a lot of the other pending problems by nullification.

They didn’t? Somehow I’d gotten the impression during the 2008 campaign that perhaps they had and I simply hadn’t been paying attention...Admittedly, I was only 10 back in 1961, but only 2 years later, Kennedy got shot, and that I remember quite vividly.
