A few weeks ago I said that this government's strategy for growth was to roll up our sleeves and do everything possible to make it easier for people to start and grow a business. Last week in the Budget, that's exactly what we did - cutting corporation tax, boosting venture capital and angel investment, announcing radical plans for deregulation and more.
So this pro-enterprise government is a pro-active government - but we also understand that there's only so much government can do on its own. That's why today I supported the launch of a new campaign - StartUp Britain - led by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. They've pulled together some amazing offers to encourage more people to strike out and start up. From advice on legal issues to creating business cards, these offers are worth around £1500 to every single start-up - and you can check them out here.
But of course none of this means anything unless people actually take these opportunities and start their own business. There are thousands of people out there who are entrepreneurs but they just don't know it yet. You could be one of them. So this is my message today: if you've been turning over a good idea for years - now is the time to go for it. Check out the support offered by the Government. Check out the offers from StartUp Britain. Seize this moment, make the most of these opportunities - and make it happen.
In other words; Now that we’ve beaten the crap out of you, depleted your capital with absurd taxes and fines for any manner of behavior we don’t like based upon the findings of a commission or council you never heard about; and conditioned all your potential employees to expect 8 week paid vacations, just go right ahead and show us what you’re made of! Get up off that mat, turn off your telly, and surprise us with your great ideas! We’ll tax those, too!

Their best bet would be to start by creating “enterprise zones”, with minimal government involvement, whose purpose is not retail, but the support of retail. The create a large duty free port on one of the Channel Islands, where business deals can be made with no taxation involved.
A lot of underused and marginal unused agricultural lands in Scotland, Wales and North England could be used to grow hemp for half a dozen start up industries, especially paper, hemp linen, hemp oil fuel, and animal fodder. Estimated value of 1-2 billion Euro per year, with very low start up costs as there would be minimal need for fertilizer or pesticide.
Then, finally, England needs to create the equivalent of the Small Business Administration, but one that uses micro-banks. These worked extremely well in India, so outside of some minor adaptations it could work in England as well.
The Channel Islands are already tax havens...:^)
A lot of mail order is routed through the islands to avoid VAT.

Monumental task for PM Cameron, class warfare, waged by the Marxist in Britain has almost destroyed all entrepreneurship.
Good ideas, but the scale of the problem is so massive that the entire country needs to be made into an “enterprise zone”.
