MEDIA MATTERS' WAR AGAINST FOX (Obama's war against free speech.......)
Politico ^ | March 28m 2011 | BEN SMITH

Posted on 03/28/2011 8:36:28 AM PDT by yoe

The liberal group Media Matters has quietly transformed itself in preparation for what its founder, David Brock, described in an interview as an all-out campaign of “guerrilla warfare and sabotage” aimed at the Fox News Channel.

The group, launched as a more traditional media critic, has all but abandoned its monitoring of newspapers and other television networks and is narrowing its focus to Fox and a handful of conservative websites, which its leaders view as political organizations and the “nerve center” of the conservative movement. The shift reflects the centrality of the cable channel to the contemporary conservative movement, as well as the loathing it inspires among liberals — not least among the donors who fund Media Matters’ staff of about 90, who are arrayed in neat rows in a giant war room above Massachusetts Avenue.

“The strategy that we had had toward Fox was basically a strategy of containment,” said Brock, Media Matters’ chairman and founder and a former conservative journalist, adding that the group’s main aim had been to challenge the factual claims of the channel and to attempt to prevent them from reaching the mainstream media.

The new strategy, he said, is a “war on Fox.”

Touche! You've deduced that O’Reilly is a bully in the
form of a “Common Tater”, without class or integrity

No O’Reilly has a skit and he sticks to it he’s not much of a target as much a Beck is.

Propaganda within Nazi Germany was taken to a new and frequently perverse level. Hitler was very aware of the value of good propaganda and he appointed Joseph Goebbels as head of propaganda.

plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose

No dictatorship was ever able to last without establishing censorship.

Did anyone see Bret Baier on Jon Stewart show? Baier was unflappable as Stewart floundered about, trying to re-define Fox News. I had never seen Stewart come off looking so bad until then.

Beck does this daily, yet many of the Patriots here seem to think Beck is Fat, stupid, and cries too much. Then there is that God thing he keeps injecting into the show.

Beck has 30 million listeners weekly, most of the ankle biters here that continually try to marginalize him, are lucky if they get 30 readers.

Perhaps it is time for FR to step up here.

I know it does so much in so many ways, but maybe a new section devoted completely to the contradiction of MM lies and it’s workings. And other such organizations.

You know, for things like the “Journo-list”.

We could call it “The 5th Column”.
