The media behaved correctly in this case - let the military deal with the situation without the sensational coverage given Abu Graib, which does nothing other than jeopardize lives.

The writers point regarding the new media is well taken, though, if rather obvious by now.

I read one detailed article about it in Rolling Stone. They had a bunch of video, pics, etc... and a long article. I read it, but it was all based on rumors, and no actual real proof. It would never hold up in court. The ONLY thing they had was a picture of troops holding up a dead body. Nonetheless, even the reporter failed to prove anything he was outraged at our military....

My thoughts were of this reporter (aka Activist) I wish you got this upset and outrage when our enemy does instead of just ignoring it.

The NYT ran front-page stories about Abu Graib for 58 days straight. Contrast that to their treatment of this scandal... near total silence.

Amazing.
