Our unstated strategy in foreign policy MUST be to take any position that weakens 0bama. We must want and make him fail everywhere even if we are temporarily weakened as a nation. As it was US policy during WW2 to support Stalin in order to defeat Hitler, we must also oppose 0bama at all costs. I for one am not a slavish nationalist if my nation stands for tyranny which it does under this most contemptible president. I doubt that 0bama would even be capable of defending the US from a direct attack or even an invasion. 0bama IS the greatest national and domestic threat our country has ever faced. Because he operates from the inside, he is a greater existential threat than Hitler ever was.

In this context, Obama’s failure means flag draped casket. When you are pulling for failure when our men and women are being shot at, you will find that you have no friends here.

We have survived terrible presidents before, that’s why their is a limit to the term and we get to pick someone new. Dead American service people, however, are dear forever.

All out or all in. Pick one.

Pussyfooting around with ambivalence about who is in charge and what are the goals while playing “can’t touch me” games with no-fly and no-boots-on-the-ground is stupid.

Either stay out of another country’s civil war, or declare an enemy and take ‘em down hard and put in a replacement. Either way, make a choice, make a policy, and get it over with.

“Are we supposed to sit back and do nothing?”

In a word, yes. There is no good outcome to what's going on in Libya.

So, is that a defense of Duncan or Barack? Both?

Great...another GOP dumbass to contend with! I wonder what dumbass Duncan plans to do when Syria, Jordan, Yemen Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the rest all attempt to put down attempted revolutions and coups? Are we supposed to bomb ‘em all?

I respectfully must disagree with you. 0bama is no mere “bad president” he IS the enemy; just as Hitler was our enemy in WW2. I wish that no servicemen or women die needlessly in defense of our nation, but they are when they serve 0bama’s political purposes.

Well, I can scratch out “Duncan Hunter” from my list of people whose judgment I trust.

We must want and make him fail everywhere even if we are temporarily weakened as a nation.

The best way to do this is to be loud in support of doing the right thing for the United States. Obama will reflexively select a path opposite the Republican call. Let HIM choose the wrong path, not us.

When Obama is deposed, the GOP must be able to LEAD. There is no way to do that if you have become an inveterate liar and professional opposition.

Finally, we can work for him to fail diplomatically, we can oppose his foolish foreign and domestic policy initiatives, we can even call him out on every single lie he utters. BUT, we must stop short of sacrificing our soldiers, airmen, marines, et al, to make a political point.

Different Duncan Hunter

I know from the comments most think this is the long running Congressman (Duncan L) but this is his son, Duncan D Hunter. Duncan D is in his second term.

He happens to be my Rep and I must vociferously disagree with him on Obama's handling of Libya.

“BUT, we must stop short of sacrificing our soldiers, airmen, marines, et al, to make a political point.”

I agree with your point because to be like Harry Reid and openly state that “the war is lost” is clearly bad politics and bad policy. But, because 0bama is also actively seeking devious ways to weaken this nation in foreign and domestic policy, we should oppose his military interventions abroad even when if it would be justified for more capable, good and wise presidents. 0bama is NOT capable good or wise and he puts our servicemen at risk every time he launches a military intervention.
Look at our border for example. I honestly do not believe that 0bama would be capable or even want to defend this country from an actual invasion by another nation. 0bama would still view such a disaster as a “crisis” to eliminate his political enemies.
