CUERNAVACA, Mexico — Police found the bodies of six men and one woman inside a car abandoned Monday in an exclusive gated community near the picturesque central Mexican city of Cuernavaca.

A shootout between rival gangs in the northern city of Monterrey killed two men, including a hot dog vendor caught in the cross fire, state police said. Three others were injured, including a 2-year-old and the child's father.

In western Michoacan state, the bodies of two men were found with messages from a new drug gang (The Knights Templar) that has been taking responsibility for recent killings in the region and claims to be a replacement for the weakened La Familia cartel.

Shouldn't "The Knights Templar" be "Los Caballeros Templar"?

The Knights Templar?

What an unlikely moniker for a drug gang!

I went on vacation in Chihuahua, Mexico a year ago. (It’s close to the Texas border). Even before I went I was a bit nervous. All seemed ok (you know, false sense of security). After I got back home was when they went into a drug rehab and killed everyone inside.

My father had a 1972 Cadillac that you could fit 10 bodies in the trunk.
