To plug the budget holes, Mayor Virg Bernero has proposed drastic spending cuts, including:

Laying off 78 police officers from the city's 245-member force, including 11 detectives from the investigations unit.

Closing three of Lansing's eight fire stations and slashing 71 fire department positions.

Eliminating all neighborhood watch and school liaison officers.

Shrinking the number of code enforcement officers and housing inspectors.

Slashing $4 million for sewer, road and parks maintenance.

“Shrinking the number of code enforcement officers and housing inspectors.”

But you added to the headline “(no bureaucrats on the list)”

The code enforcement officers certainly qualify as bureaucrats.

Look, I’m always looking for opportunities to point out how our rulers are doing everything but live up to their obligations to protect us under the social contract. Instead they seek to regulate us to death because it is a source of more power if they can increase the numbers who violate the law. That is easier to do with busy body laws on the books. You and I would LOVE to see those bureaucrats canned.

What I’m griping about is that your adding that “no bureaucrats on the list” is wrong. Save that added headline for when its really true. Then no apology needed.

Is there any thought of addressing the wages and pensions? Don’t suppose a little sacrifice by all to save jobs would be an option, would it.

Yep, we can hold the people hostage and claim to be budget conscious. Since they didn’t vote for me, the prols will pay.

“It’s always the cops and firefighters.”

You got a problem laying off union left wing pig cops who answer to their Marxist masters?

Here. I’ll give you the floor so you can explain the treasure of being ruled by fascist pig cops.

Take as much space as you need...
