Tactically - this appears to be a major snafu.
From what I’ve heard we are not sending in ground troops. From what I’ve seen at various news websites (pictures and such) - the “rebels” we are supporting are a fairly rag-tag group riding in Toyota trucks with machine guns. Tactically (and I’m intentionally leaving the politics out of this post)...they are only capable of following up - unimpeded - behind our (U.N.) air strikes. So without sending in ground forces all we can do is pin Gadaffi’s forces into cities like Tripoli. We can’t “starve em out” because it’s a huge city and that would mean starving hundreds of thousands of innocent civillian inhabitants (not exactly a humanitarian thing to do). Plus Gadaffi has TONS of money they say...$6 billion in gold in the Bank of Tripoli alone...along with billions in other currencies....so he can continue to pay his soldiers (if I’m not mistaken I read where he just gave every soldier a promotion). So what the heck can you do?
Make it clear to Gadaffi that this is the mission of Obama/UN/Europe and NOT anything to do with America and its people. Bow to Gadaffi and apologize to him.
Leave the coalition of the unwilling and bring our military home and hope Gadaffi will not attack us for the stupidity of the fake illegit president.
